Classic Fantasy Football (NFL) - 2010 Season

who is starting fantasy football this time around?
preferably not started by people like kevin and yump who ended up ruining the last one iirc.

im gonna join this year, hopefully whoever starts it uses the nfl.com one, they just redid their interfaces and stuff and is ranked among the best in fantasy fb.

MysticX2X 05-25-2010 11:58 PM

I think James is going to. I'm looking forward to 2010 fantasy now that I have a very good picture of player/team performances.

Stafford idk. Sanchez was an accident. Thought I had somebody elses name selected.

BlackSolider 05-26-2010 03:28 AM

I'd be interesting in joining, though it doesn't overly matter who starts it.

I've always used ESPN.com's fantasy stuff, but NFL.com seems like it'd be good as well (and like DC said, they just redid their stuff.)

MysticX2X 05-26-2010 04:50 AM

isnt yahoo tradition though wtf

Gotenks_Gore 05-26-2010 06:25 AM

Just because something is a tradition, doesn't make it better/right. I personally don't think yahoo is as good as ESPN's format, but ultimately it doesn't make that big of a difference.

Yes, ultimately it doesnt matter which fantasy fb we use, there is no "tradition", iirc, this has only been done like this with this community once before.

I recommended the nfl.com one simply because their new interface which is more user friendly for people who arent experts on every team, would be nice to see people who are relatively new to the sport from diff. countries give it a shot like xaphan did(and did pretty well).

Main thing is I just don't want it run by the same people who ended up ruining last years, I didnt get to participate in last years fantasy league but still was saddened when it was ruined.

the thread title is kind of confusing, could you please rename it to "classic fantasy american football[...]"? especially now since there's the real football worldcup about to start..

I can see how that can be confusing, but considering it was made by an American and directed mostly at Americans, I think it's fine. Besides, no matter what the title of the thread is, it doesn't hurt to read the first post thoroughly.

Also, what's a worldcup?

Nah jk, gl to everyone's country, though I personally don't care.

Heroin 05-26-2010 07:56 PM

a worldcup is some kind of event americans always sign up for but then lose in the first round :P

BlackSolider 05-26-2010 08:00 PM

Ouch, but probably true.

MysticX2X 05-26-2010 10:07 PM

Im pumped for the world cup!

Polo 05-27-2010 12:30 AM

I've changed the thread title.

Hopefully the addition of 'NFL' will make it clear enough whilst avoiding the whole American football/football/soccer madness. ^^

ty now james just needs to find this thread because its looking like me or him running fantasy this yr

DarkCloud_PK 05-28-2010 01:17 AM

bump.

I pre-registered for the nfl.com fantasy league, so I guess I will run it this year unless there are any objections. I don't plan on going out and cheating or ruining this years league.

Which begs the question for those of you joining the classic fantasy league, should yump and kevin be trusted to not try to screw up the league and be allowed to join the league, or should they not be allowed to join? Vote if you're joining, please.

MysticX2X 05-28-2010 01:35 AM

I don't think either of them would join this league, but I am joining as long as other Graal people join.

I'm joining, also, I say let Yump and Kevin join if they want.

BlackSolider 05-28-2010 06:22 AM

I'll join up in the morning probably, and I really don't foresee a problem with letting them in as we can watch and undo any cheap moves they make this time.

Mark Sir Link 05-28-2010 07:12 AM

ya I'll play

James 05-28-2010 08:35 AM

yo

Crimson2005 05-28-2010 03:38 PM

You can't trust Kevin as far as you can throw him, so no, I'm not joining if he is in it. He hasn't even apologised for deliberately ruining everyone's fun last year, it's still a joke to him probably.

If DC is running the league, he can make it so he has to okay trades. Kevin CAN'T ruin it. I also don't think he'd do it again.

You don't know him like I and so many others do. The fact that DC is running it probably makes him more susceptible to try and do all he can to ruin it again seeing as he has had a grudge against DC for a long time. DC should remember this and so should all of you who felt aggrieved by it.

I don't know specifics about their grudge, but if they have had issues in the past, then I don't think allowing Kevin in would be good for the league. He obviously worked things to his and few others advantage last season, so clearly he has evil intentions! Despite the fact that DC could watch and manage any actions, I think it's best to be safe rather than sorry and just avoid the situation entirely if there is such a grudge.

MysticX2X 05-29-2010 01:54 AM

Let's hope Gladius doesn't go 1-13 again.

James 05-29-2010 02:28 AM

let them play so i can stomp them.

i'm sure other people are looking for some sweet revenge too!

DarkCloud_PK 05-29-2010 10:49 PM

i will see what i am all able to do as league manager or w/e on june 1st when its released, after I do whatever setup is needed(I havent ran a league before, so I dont know if theres any prep work)

How many teams should we allow?
Personally I like the idea of decent amount of teams, as it makes the strategy much more fun imo, as everyone wont have a ton of big name players and makes the draft more interesting.

Thats just my opinion, again this is up for vote so we can make the league as fun for everyone as we can. I will get everyone the information as soon as it becomes available to me.

James 05-29-2010 10:54 PM

I'd say 12 or 14 or 16 teams total, but I don't think we'll have to worry about getting more than that anyway.

MysticX2X 05-30-2010 01:01 AM

12 seems more ideal.

BlackSolider 05-30-2010 02:08 AM

10 is ideal imo, but 12 is also alright. Anything more and the talent is far too diluted imo to get quality teams, as many teams will be using #2s and #3s as starters, which is kind of lame.

Mark Sir Link 05-30-2010 06:52 AM

hello

James 05-30-2010 06:54 AM

hi
