Do you think Bravo Online should come back?

Reviving old playerworlds is not going to bring the old times back.

There's nobody who could or wants to bring it back. I'm assuming you mean the modern incarnation.

I'm for it, as long as it's well planned and organized with the concept that Bravo had in the past. Significant changes should be mandatory upon revival.

I was part of the (Noah) guild if anyone can remember, we used to have some intense pk fights with another guild that I cant remember :[

I used to work on Bravo after it lost a lot of popularity, before it went modern, but that's hardly credible enough to say I played Bravo during it's prime. MysticalDragon is still about, I think, or atleast he was (over on Delteria).

Ah right. I wonder what he's doing nowadays. I can never know with MD. One time I had someone say he died in a police shoot out during a drug bust, lol.

So many people trying to act like they're oldschool by preaching about others not being oldschool when they really don't have a ****ing clue.

Anyways, I haven't seen MD on aim/msn for a while. He's always disappearing like this.

Which Bravo are we talking about? I played it when Darkon (Hutchy) and GlubGlub was responsible for a lot of development work. Think that was the second revision of Bravo.

That was Bravo Evolved, if I remember correctly. The version of Bravo that went modern. Before that it was a classic playerworld like N-pulse and UN. I'm pretty sure glubglub didn't work on it back then.

The modern Bravo is mostly referred to as Bravo Evolved, so I didn't think he was referring to that version in this thread.

I don't think that remakes are always forced to fail, the problem is that all previous remake projects either failed because people started them to easily get a pw to work with, or because the staff couldn't meet their own requirements (people use to glorify the past playerworlds).

I think a good makeover could actually work but I can't see this here, no known or experienced developer on the list so far (or am I wrong? feel free to correct me).

There was a version in between classic Bravo and Bravo Evolved that used a tileset that basically just looked like Era ripped off. I remember that specifically getting hacked by someone other than Jellyfish (FilterONE or something like that) through the Dev Admin's account, Icekiller I think.

I remember when Bravo hit classic. It was a cool server. Little weird but cool

I miss Bravo, it was an awesome server (before it went modern). If not for Brandon wanting to make it gold it might still be here today... The levels didn't have the detail we have now. But it didn't need it. Just the concept and the quests were enough to keep people on... Although I still remember having Aaron kick my ass at sparring all the time.

Actually Bravo Online was revived in its original form after the 'Andor' time period (if you aren't sure, Andor was one of the first p2p servers after Graal2001 and to follow in its footsteps in design choice).

It was my first real time to pursue a task, have a job on Graal. I was the "Guilds Admin" or something of the sort.

Remember being around on RC when he was hired. Did you also make that demon he shown me and told me to make multiple views for? It only had the down direction and was red and very mean.

You know, I still have the pre npc-server levels from old Bravo. I may be interested in doing something, perhaps I will purchase a development package and we'll see what happens. I will talk to Sky also, I actually began a discussion about this with him yesterday. I've been gone for a few years, but I miss it and it would be fun to get back into the swing of things.

It's settled, as far as I am concerned. I will be purchasing a development package tomorrow (Wednesday, 3/3/10) and getting a project going. Anyone truly interested in helping out should contact me through forum PM or in-game once the server is started. :D

Initially I wondered what the confusion was about - my decision has nothing to do with the poll; I did not start this thread. I want to put something together, so I'm going to. Anyone interested in being part of the project (whether you voted yes, maybe, no, or didn't vote at all) is welcome to contact me directly. Anyone who knows me from previous years should know that something as simple as a yes/no poll is not enough to influence me one way or the other - the proof will come when the project is further along and people either show interest or don't; either way, I won't consider the time wasted.
