Minimap annoyance.
 

I think the Minimap should load when you login and your character is located in an "inside" level. It's kind of annoying to have to go "outside" for it to load, I'd like to see it load inside. When you first login in an "inside" level, you won't know that you have Private Messages unless you view the Playerlist. Please include Inside Minimap Loading in next release, thanks.

The problem with that is "what minimap should load?" It's not simple to have a default minimap, I could add a little icon in the bottom left if there is no minimap that shows when you have PMs, but some people might not like that.

I would like an icon showing PMs. I often forget to check my player list when I am busy working on inside levels and have not gone out onto the over world. Therefore I accidentally miss PMs sometimes.

I use the pm icons on the minimap 90% of the time because I close the scripted playerlsit while I'm moving and reopen it again when I'm standing still but I honestly think this isn't a very big problem, it takes 5 seconds to go outside and load the minimap. Also if you are using Windows you could use enable the tab icon.

Edit: I've also noticed that the pm icon doesn't always work even when you receive a pm, I know specifically when I'm inside a Haunted House on Graal Kingdoms it doesn't show the pm icon if I receive pms but it could just be a local problem with the server.

Yep, Stefan was one the who scripted it surprisingly. So this kind of thing can be done at server's discretion. If anyone wants it, I can give it out even though it could probably use a re-script.

honestly i hate the mini-maps and i don't think they are used very well. i always turn it off when i go to an outside level whenever i log on, and i've gotten into the habit of keeping my playerlist open since with the mini-map disabled i can't click on the PM icons ):

I don't care for the mini-maps either and turn them off when I go outside as well, but I like being able to see that I have a PM without having to have my player list open. I have a mac so the player list gets in my way if I leave it open.

I see the pm icon in the windows tray so I don't see the issue here...although I guess Mac may not have an equivalent functionality.

I "disable" my minimap too, but unless you go outside the Private Message bubble won't show up in your lower-left corner of the screeen. It'll still show the PM bubble relative to the player's XY position on the map, even though it's absent.

I usually play Unholy Nation, so I don't share the benefit that Zodiac players have. I would prefer the minimap to load in "inside" levels because I mainly use it for PM bubbles.

It doesn't, but it's not really important anyway. I never look at the tray icon even on Windows.

Indeed, hence me missing PMs on RC just as well.
