New type of tileset

I think there should be a type of tileset dedicated to outside tiles alone. I know we have the type 1 tileset where you can customize it to how you see fit but at the same time you are limited by its spaces to how many blocking/ground detail you can have in it. It would be nice to have a type of tileset where you can FULLY devote to outside tiles because the possibilities would be limitless.

Would depend on what a server wants to use as outside tiles though and how many blocking/nonblocking tiles they want.

Use two separate tilesets for indoor and outdoor?

I believe what SlickRick is trying to say here is, it'd be useful if the type 1 tileset was extended length wise to the right. In order to make more room for blocking tiles.

SlikRick 09-30-2009 08:11 PM

Yeah pretty much what Chang said. Because even with the type 1 tileset you're still limited to how many blocking tiles you can have and it would be nice if the blocking area was extended out.

I think the format that Graal uses you store tile data in .nw has hit its limit with the current size of the tileset, and so I doubt they can make it any larger.

Well, I think a developer should revamp pics1.png to a more current graphical standard. That tileset was fine for 2004 but you notice, a lot of people don't even use pics1 because it is so outdated.

SlikRick 10-01-2009 07:01 AM

What does that have to do with making more room for blocking tiles?

Unkownsoldier 10-02-2009 02:32 AM

Everything.

pics1.png is a very good tileset and the reason it isn't used often is because it doesn't hit into most servers styles.
