I totally love the water tiles !
For the grass or the sand, it looks kinda odd but ok. |
Ehh, that's water? :oo:

Looks quite plain, but I'm sure it'd look pretty if you add cliffs around. Maybe it looks a bit too bright. |

Made the water a bit darker: |
The transition between the water and the mud looks bad. Other than that, it's good.

Yeah, I'll fix that up. Thanks :D

The grass clashes with the rest of the image...really stands out and almost looks like it's just floating on top of everything else. Lower the contrast a bit?

Dither as a water transition is nonsensical. The reason it doesn't look like water is because of the transition. Dither = rough, why would water touching sand be rough in any way? You can either make use of transparency effects of water over sand, or smooth and shiny transitions(think pics 1 beach tiles). Or both.

That grass looks radioactive

I like the grass. Really don't like the dithered transition from sand to water though. |
I dislike the water tiles in both examples. The first one reminded me of off colored snow. The second one looks more waterish but more like stagnant water. In both examples the sand/water transition is... off, and to me it makes the water tiles appear higher, or at the same level as the rest of the tiles.
