BMPs :(
And what format do you use when the color count exeeds 255?
I use either .png or .bmp when this happens, and I saw someone complain that they couldnt see a .png. |
Which image format has the greatest range of color, and is the best to create images in, TrueHeat?
Scalper, could you make me one like that?
I'm the one that said I couldn't see the png images (when they are as attachments to a message) If you use the img tag I should be able to see them (I think?)
I can view png images fine but only when they are as attachements for some reason it won't work on this board, weird |
thats a cool sig ultimate!!!!
Oh, either I read it wrong or misunderstood it. Oh well back to .png lol.
I will make anyone a sig. just describe it as best you can and send to [email protected]. It will be ready..when its ready lol. I will also host your sig. heres some variables Colors Size Format Images (if you want any images in your sig attach them to the email) lighting transparancy/opacity and whatever you can think of I dont know when my site will be ready, clanpages has decided to turn a 24 hour wait to a 48hr and pending wait. |
I don't know how they did it, but in Photoshop 6, it's actually possible to save an image as a 255-color gif file! I'm not kidding, either. Most of my sigs use colors that aren't on the web pallette... I think Photoshop selects the colors used in the image instead of basing it on the web pallette, which is one of the many reasons why it's so super duper cool :D

Well
GIMP does that too, so it's nothing really special.
Is GIMP for Windows as good as GIMP for Linux?
Download it and find out ^_^
Its basically a free photoshop, should be worth a shot |
Thanks
Thats a cool sig :D:D:D:D |
No problem.
where would I find GIMP?
Change it to a gif....
What?
Nice sig, GIFs are best.
Gif looks better
PNGs preserve color better though.

GIFS ARE BETTER THAN JPGS
This is the most ridiculous topic to argue about... here's your deal:
The JPEG format was created as a compression graphics format for graphics, while the GIF was a compression format for photographs. Both were created principally to decrease the file size of the graphics, not to be higher in quality. The bitmap format is a microsoft proprietary format that simply assigns a color on a pixel basis. None of them is better! However, since most of our photos fall under the jpeg category... |
I've never made a GIF that didn't look like the BMP version.

PNGs can contain 16 million colours, whereas GIFs must be saved containing 256 colours, so explain to me how they would look the same, especially if you were using lots of gradients and stuff. |
Welcome to the other side.
Asuka you cannot
match my spamming abilities. |

you can read more about GIMP for Windows as well as download it here |
Lycia, look at the 2 images I posted. One was a BMP, which is like perfect quality, the other is a GIF. Notice any difference?
I see it...
What do you see.
The BMP looks surprisingly better then the GIF
It looks exactly the same for me.
not to me
What differences do you see?
