this new addition to graal 2001
found next to Zaitic Labs

i want to know what
scores you have to get to get prizes

my top score is 420

Birdbird_0 09-16-2001 03:58 PM

Nothing but a big fat cookie from Birdbird's cookie jar, err, or just the fact that you have skilz to do that on a game for no point what so ever"?!

Birdbird_0 09-16-2001 03:59 PM

er, That game is soo darn addicting, and multiplayer is fun when you drop stakcs on them when you get 2 and 3 in a row

ZanderX 09-16-2001 04:04 PM

What is Metris? I rarely leave the Dustari zone on 2001 except to go to the Marketplace, and I don't keep up with News, so someone clue me in please.

konidias 09-16-2001 04:40 PM

Metris needs a high score table and prizes.. otherwise its just a useless game to pass the time.. at least add a high score table stefan! :)

ZanderX 09-16-2001 04:41 PM

WHAT IS METRIS. ARGH.

It's next to the Zalactic Labs. It's like Tetris, just missing a few pieces.

toad1413 09-16-2001 04:43 PM

It's tetris, that I think Kaimetsu made. Gotta check it out still.

thotijn 09-16-2001 04:50 PM

thotijn 09-16-2001 04:56 PM

wetferret1 09-16-2001 05:45 PM

roflmao

Kaimetsu 09-16-2001 06:40 PM

It was originally called Kaimetris but that was too long. So now it's Metris.

toad1413 09-16-2001 06:55 PM

Hmm... if it was originally named 'Kaimetris', then who could have made it? Hmm... ;)

Kai made this. It's really good =)

DJApotheosis 09-17-2001 01:12 AM

Bah, someone massed a message saying if you got 1000+ points in Metris you'd get Jolt bombs.

1368 points, and no jolt bombs, nor even a high score table to commemorate it :(

That guy either didn't know or made a typo - it's actually 10,000 points X_X

It's only a little game for fun, dude. Don't look at it like some big challenge. Did ever you complain when you got a highscore on real gameboy Tetris and didn't get any special reward?

yeah, but I think its stupid that there are hundreds of things that have nothing to do with each other other than to have fun, we need some point to the games

I only script stuff - I can't design quests. So if all I can give you is Metris then that's what I'll do.

More than 600 points is like impossible
except your computer is really lagging...
May be a personal hiscore would be good,
but a global hiscore might be messed up because
lagged people get more points (everything
is slower -> you have more time to think
where the bone needs to be placed)
May be there can be some npc playing metris
and when you send him a line then he
is doing something evil or he is giving you
an item :)

I had NOTHING open but graal, i'm running a 56k, and i wasnt lagging at all...and I got 1025 points..
maybe 'cause i'm so good at it? =P
For "The New Tetris" on N64, my top score is 756 lines...the blocks move so fast, i can barely get them across the board in time :asleep:

Rekad 09-17-2001 09:11 AM

make it so it checks your latency or whatever, and it factors that into your high score ;)

Yes, but my point is that games in general become more challenging and gain more depth by HAVING a point. Not necessarily an overinflated point, but just a point. For example, D2 is fun to play, and once you beat it, great. But people keep coming back and playing it for hours on end because of the random, rare items.

I actually love the Tetris on GameBoy and amassed 2,000,000 points at level 18 (yes, it goes way way way past lvl 9). But the ending you get with the rocket ship I think was at least worth some distinction. I just don't see how productive the game can be when all you get is a point total that amounts to nothing in comparison.

I still think Metris is an awesome addition to Graal though :p

psihunter 09-17-2001 10:09 AM

Stefan needs to have more one player games on graal to pass time

that be kewl
It beats working

I just got 533 points on metris >=)

SagaTCN 09-17-2001 11:51 AM

especially so you can lag and cheat and get a really really high score right?

haha. it's good to no this game is not copywrited. everyone uses it.

Admins 09-17-2001 12:08 PM

It's copyrighted but we are only copying parts of the
idea which shouldn't be a problem

Yes I basicly took Kaimetsus Metris game and
added the line-sending and height-meter for
the online mode, there might come some
extensions for the one-player mode if
Kaimetsu has time and motivation :)

Iracious 09-17-2001 12:23 PM

The NPC could give candy food item as a lower prize and money for middle and maybe a new NPCw for really high score?

Iracious 09-17-2001 12:31 PM

My top score is 520, and thats me on my non laggy DSL line

Iracious 09-17-2001 12:38 PM

Suggestion - add a reversed L block

TheBlazer2k1 09-17-2001 05:54 PM

maybe make to help the newbes mainly me lol any way maybe make it so you can get tickets like one for a free booth at the market another for a free bread and another for a free pie and maybe make a machine in the unstick me house that you can cash in another ticket for a free refill of clean water and add a nice prize but it takes long to get it make it like a little hat or some thing but make it free so they cant sell it
