ownerofbabylon 09-16-2001 01:40 PM

it looks ok, I see some tile errors. I just wanna know why everyone thinks that the more towns and fire NPCs that cost 50000000000$ makes it better.

I have 20 towns and 15 NPCs that put fire everywhere! WooHoo!

Merlin 09-16-2001 01:42 PM

i think those levels are not nice ;[

hey....nothing wrong with fire :D The real trick is to use showimg and create different kinds of weapons instead of using bomb leaps and whatnot.

If you want to show a playerworlds quality, I suggest not just placing any random tile in any random position on a level.
If you want to see a quality playerworld in the making...go into the screenshot section of my webpage:
Galactica (Dolphonia II)

There have been a few changes to some of the screenshots and of course I have also finished making the HUD.

All the levels are handmade for the best quality.

HUD:

If it does not show up please head on to the scripting forum and open "System Preview" for old version and new.

Other than a couple neat looking custom graphics, like the gate, I see nothing special about the Galactica levels...No offense.

Knightoffrost 09-16-2001 03:51 PM

You'll get alot of satisfactory out of actually playing them I assure you. The screenshots do not show much, for the NPCs, the story, and other attributes are what makes it great.

I really gotta get some new screenshots up :) I can't really be bothered taking them because for them to work I must transform the PNG into GIFs.

Well, it doesn't exactly fit with the rest of the shot, I'll agree, but it is unique-looking.

Hehe, you posted that twice. :) But I'll take your word for it. You seem intelligent and hard working, so I expect alot out of your server. ^_^

Well, regardless, you should spend more time working on your server than you should posting on these dumb forums. :) It sounds like it has a lot of potential and you really shouldn't concern yourself with these forums.

Delph Inc., what happened to Xeripher? I never see him post here anymore. :(

1st:
The bridge blocks you if you try to walk off it, door shows open and close gif, depending on time the leaves fall off the small trees every now and then...disappearing after a while.

2nd:
Under bush is a key which gets put on your keyring. Whenever you use the keyring item it shows all the keys you currently have and you can select the one you wish to use. Must use the key found to open a door, which leads to a hammer which you use to break the rocks.
*new* Shadow of platform sticking out of the rock has been put in. Vines hanging over the cave door and cliff which you can climb.

3rd:
Very old map.

4th:
Gifs on trees which you can walk under WOW!
Lights which you can turn on and off. Stay on or off whenever you enter the level. Roof appears when exiting last level.

5th:
Gate moves up when it is daytime. Didn't just move the gif up...made the top disappear gradually. For scripters:
Took about 1 off the height of the image every timeout. (it looks like it is going into the bridge)
Guards walk into their rooms down the ladder at night, come out at day. (Guard room shown later)
Lights as above.

6th:
4th screenshot without a roof.
Computers open a webpage which looks like the screen and tells you about the planet (I have taken it away now due to problems with NetScape navigator)

7th:
When you first enter the planet...the blue stuff gets bigger opening a worm hole (Stargate I know, but I just love that show)
You take a rough landing and get up and see the three guys shown walking towards you. You have a little chat with the green one and he leads you to the senator in another level. (Sound effects included)

8th:
The only way to get off the space station is to help fix the "Stargate" you must finish a little introductory quest to collect the tool (on the top of the shelf) and give it to the maintenance operator in the gate room.
(There are 3 main planets in this player world, and plenty of other small ones for quests. You can travel to them in your own personalized space ship (Which I introduced into Dolphonia before it went down if you remember))

9th:
Inside guards house. You can climb up the ladder (Don't worry...it's realistic) the barrels are like bushes sort of...you can carry and blow them up. (Also used for a shipping job I will have introduced).

10th:
New signs. Plants(GIPS) which you can work to get...very valuable and you can get alot of gold coins for selling them.

I may post the story another time...I don't want to give away too much ;)

MWAHAHAHA I have taken this thread into my own hands :D

Anyway...I wouldn't have a clue about Xerphier...He may be on holidays and forgot the password...Check our stats and if the average post isn't around 21 in a day...something has happened...
Could actually be the horrible terrorist attack...

*Worries :megaeek: *

Don't ask me too much for I only know him through the internet...I actually live in Australia.
