Odd, but....

For some reason, I have little to no desire to continue playing Graal2001. It's strange, as before a few days ago I was having a good time indeed on the server. The change is very abrupt, and I can't quite place the cause.

I log onto the server, and I have no intention of making any gralat. I have no need to run off and waste an hour farming, or mash the 'D' button as I mine. All of these once seemed like a fun way to pass the time at night --- now, they don't. What's the point? I don't even have enough right now to pay rent at Genmo's house, but then, who cares? So I have a bed that no one else can reach, or safely store my worthless money?

I don't feel like playing events anymore, especially Survivor. I've done all the exploring there is to be done, found all the NPC's there are to be found. It's incredibly dull, all of the sudden.

Anybody else experiencing anything like this? I'm rather confused, because I simply logged on one day and had no desire to play whatsoever, I'm hoping to be admitted to Dustari which will (hopefully) breath new life into the game, but I'm fairly certain that now that the entire database was deleted, that my test results will be more distinguishable than any of the others that Kamuii is surely swamped in. It's actually bothering me, because there was no cause that I can recall --- I just lost interest.

A similar thing happened on Classic a while back, so I took a few months off, and found that the entire game was much more fun when I returned. But that's several months off of a game I've already payed for. I'll probably stick around for a while longer, and see if it blows over, but it's still rather funny. Graal is no longer anything of much interest.

I agree with you on the jobs thing, it would be nice to have skills involved in jobs

I do quests, but they only take 5 minutes.

Yeah, I did all three. Zalactic caves was fun, but far too short and overhyped.... :\

I don't play Graal that much, either. All I care about, now is posting on the forums.

Yes sometimes its better to take some
timeout, but thats the same with all games
or things (when eating pizza every day then
some day it will not taste good anymore
*that was just an example i still like pizza*)

Yeah, I think I may leave for a month or so. But then, the marketplace is such a fresh new idea, it definetly adds a new aspect to the game.... I'll see what happens.

Exactly, I play AoE when I get frustrated with Graal, or StarCraft

Money is all people care about now

Xythar 09-08-2001 06:41 AM

I just kicked the crap out of Lavos on Chrono Trigger again. That always kills the boredom, however temporarily. :D

Do any of you know Oswald Spengler? No? OK well he was this German guy that had a theory that civilizations have seasons, and eventually all of them die out. I guess we could call Graal a civilization, or a society. Well he said whenever a civilization becomes geared on the sole purpose of money and they focus on greed and obsession, it is then when a civilization falls.

Yes, I believe that is my point :(
But I will play Graal to the end, and I'll do whatever I can to do it from falling. Luckily, there is also another guy called Arnold Toynbee who opposed Spenglers theory, who said that all civilizations will live on forever until they are faced with challenges. I do believe new main ha many many challenges in it, and Graal in general

NewMain just lacks content. The market place was a great addition though, I hope to see more things like it in the future.
