Even more ideas!

Okay here is my idea:

NPC Code:

showimg index,@@[email protected],x,y;

okay let me explain.

this shows the designated image on the map.
this would be GREAT for quests and showing where the player should go next, like in many other games.
the x,y would be the map x and map y, which would be the given pixel x and y of the map. (duh)

Share your thoughts :-)

kool sounds good
kinda like when you get the compass in Zelda it shows you where treasure and that is.
but what map would they be placed on the mini map or the big map

It would have to work out so that it would show even if the player didnt enter the level.

I will add it to the todo list for the
new gmap files :-)

And timeout's should work when the player views the map, so you can check if the player says anything and than shows an message/image on the map

LiquidIce00 08-29-2001 03:09 AM

also
showimg but so you can show light effects !
(i dont think its possible now)
and then you can imcorporate that with the @map thingy ;)

Warcaptain 08-29-2001 03:28 AM

light effects would be cool, so you can make things glow like glowing dots.

and also, you can show the location of an npc on a map.

(im sure there is a way)

Warcaptain 08-29-2001 10:21 AM

if you say so godspeed, just tryin to take the glory
:mad:

Warcaptain 08-29-2001 10:24 AM

but a code like:
NPC Code:

drawonmap image to show;
undrawonmap;

would show the NPC like it would a player on the map with the given gfx, and you could replace it with #f or #i()
