A new rpg style tileset
 

This is a tileset I have been working on for a day.. Tell me what you think. (yes I know this is the wrong forum but I dont care move it if you must =P) anyway, gonmon is posting all his tiles and levels here :D

Its attached, take a look and comment.

Not bad at all, those are real cool :D

You should make your own server with that tile set, it's wicked.

Yeah, the tiles I made there need to be edited a bit.. I see some flaws in them.. but after I examined pics1.png, I notice that there are SO MANY tiles that are just ugly that could be replaced with more outside and inside tiles. I mean seriously.. look at the current set.. Nearly all the lava tiles are awful and most don't even make sense such as the big red outlined spiky thing that takes up like 20 tiles that could easily be one npc instead of a bunch of tiles. Then theres the few left over space tiles, and the terribly bright tacky looking tiles. And the big stone in the bottom left corner could be replaced by a medium sized tree. And now with replace tile there is no need for 3 different colors of treetops.. because it isn't often you use more than one color of tree per level. So you could just replace the green tree tiles with gold, red, or whatever other color, and use the other 2 sets of tree top tiles for more useful things. =)

Thanks for all the praise on the tiles I made.. I didn't think they would be as good as everyone says seeing as how I made them in less than one day. :)

You could contact me about joining the level team as a "new tile" maker. We need people who can make us new tiles to work with.

but they have to be new ones not just edited old ones

wow you got the set up nice job on the tiles :D

I personaly think that there should be a box and graal should come with more then 1 set of tiles like a huge set for indoor and a huge set for outdoor and like a small set of different kinds of tree's and maybe a place to store your NPC's for easy use kinda like how you can save premade house's but do it with premade NPC's I am kinda getting away from the point any way

The treetops in that snapshot, thats what I was orriginally going to make treenm3.png look like, cept I tried to make it in just one day, then PM it to Stefan.
Although I've got a better version of treenm3.png made now WITH a better looking trunk to it.
Excellent work on the tileset, keep up the good job.
The best thing to do when making a tileset, is make the tiles, then make variations of them so you can make your levels as unique as possible. I made 9 different grass tiles in my tileset(thats just green grass too)

Awsome...those are both amazing tilesets. :)
