Moose's Art

Hello everyone, my name is Moose, and I am getting used to gfxing. I am currently making an inventory, but I'm not sure how to finish it off. I am hoping that you guys will be able to help me out, by giving me your tips/advice/criticism.

The Middle is where the item will be displayed when it is click, a description and the stats of the item will also be there. Next to it (the boxes) will be the stats of the player and if an item is clicked, it will show how the item affected the stats. Underneath everything is the icon box, to hold the items...

I am willing to hear all suggestions on how I should finish it/improve on it.

You're going to be stuck with rather inflexible and frustrating menus if you don't opt for making images for a skin instead. Just fair warning.

It does look pretty good, though. I like the slightly angled corners and color palette.

to add to what draenin is saying, it would be extremely beneficial to design the gui around a pre existing system. Addidtions and edits to a system later down the road would also involve changes to your inventory.

If you want to make images for use in GUI skins, look for the 'guiblue' folder in your Graal folder and modify the files you find in there to your liking. Then have someone experienced with making menus use those files to skin over individual elements. It's more practical to do so, as one GUI skin could be used for a multitude of windows instead of just one.

Also, you may find some other 'gui' folders in your own Graal folder as well that are beneficial to use as templates.

Moose, listen to what both of these people say. I agree, you will want to make a skin rather then a single image.
