Bring back the <3

As reconciliation for the killing of '<3' messages in Graal PMs, I bring forth a solution. '&lt3'.

Basically, browsers will replace all instance of &lt with the < sign. &lt stands for less than and the & tells the browser to replace it. It allows web developers to put < on their pages without them being read as tags.

ANYHOO

If someone has HTML enabled, sending them &lt3 will show <3. If not, they will see &lt3.

Best I can do for now :D

How dare you try replacing our <3 by &lt3!

Well even with HTML on, if someone sends you <3 it'll hide anyway. Will &lt3 alos hide?

No, &lt will not be read as a html tag and won't be filtered. It will display '<' :D

It's pretty much an exact opposite of using <3 in a pm which can be read without HTML but not with HTML enabled :p

Seems like too much work just to pull of an '<3'.

Codein 06-19-2007 05:45 PM

It's only a few characters longer and it's not hard to memorise them.

So much thought given into something so simple....

Having HTML off makes you look cool.

I've been using that for a while now. But, don't you need to put a semicolon? Like "<3".

&lt3 should work, I tried pming him and it must have shown up as <3 or something. Else he'd be laughing at me. :(

Ever since the days where Bart would send Star Wars porn through PMs, I've had HTML off.
