Dearest players, friends, developers, and supporters of Relic.
Some of you have heard of Relic however many of you are still in
the dark about what I beileve is the greatest project of all time.

For those of you who do not know Relic is a one of a kind server based
in a fantasy-medieval world which revolves around Role-Playing in a fun environment.
What sets Relic appart from your average joe server is that Relic is made by the players
and for the players. I have personaly played Graal for years and have
seen just about every project that has ever been in existance and one
by one they all fail but this server is different.

Story line: In a small town located among the Krath hills evil is abroad the land
has begun to change and once benevolent creatures have become twisted. Dark shadows
loom in the Baneholst woods and those dare to venture into the forrest have not returned.
Most people turn to the Gods in repentance of sins but something deeper and darker is it
hand will you join the forces of light in defense of all that is good? or will you take the
straight path to personal gain and power? the fate of the world rests in you hands.

If you would like to become a part of this ever-evolving world you can help Relic become a
reality by logging on the server and pming one of our helpfull staff members if you cannot locate
one please send an email to [email protected] We are currently looking to hire level makers
and gani artists.

Above is what Tony wanted to say, and theres plenty more than what hes written above the server. But, we really do need the help to make this project possible.
So, here are a few screenshots i scraped together just now.

Hope you like them, i havent read what Tony put, but i trust he was grateful for you reading it :P

Maybe i also add, that majority of the levels in the screenshots havent been detailed yet, just skimmed over the town and added the main features so i dont get myself lost again.

I don't know why, but I'm in love with your tileset, Tom. XD
I'd be interested in helping, but I have my own server to worry about.
Keep up and don't quit, I'd like to see that go some where.

Zz this is about the 1 of maybe the 3 servers Ive seen on graal that actually has a look that well....look good, somewhat SNES-ish. I would die if your character sprites were setup so that they run walk AND RUN "smoothly". Now that would be truly awsome.
(Not GK style bodies and movements and such, I like the bodies just hope they move well for quick fighting and such.)

No offense to Tom, but those tiles are TonyRivers :p

TonyRivers 01-08-2006 05:35 AM

He never claimed he made them but for those of you who would like to know I have made all the graphics for Relic so far. I would also like to stress the importance of a ganier we really need one and I am not sure why more people arent coming forward it could be that no one visits this forum much or it could just be lack of intrest although I cannot see why.

Woah, amazing!

Hiya!

I like these screenshots, but:
- i think all tiles are kinda pastel-colored, thats a bit boring ;p
- i dont like your character models, the face should be quite similar detailed as the rest of the cloth

Yeah, we are working hard to make it really smooth, and also our sprint movement aswell. At the moment, we havent really had luck on the Gani Artist area, at all, and are hoping someone might just pop up and help :P

As for the fighting, we are really concerntrating on the gameplay of the actual fighting, and are working on a nice original system to throw out the boring, "slash 4 directions", hack and slash. ^_^

I have'nt done any of the graphics yet, which is pretty odd for me, But Tony has done pretty much all of it, as the tileset is in his style, and i thought id let him keep it the same style all the way through.

Majority of the current world was created by me, except about 3 levels ^_^

And we wont be giving up, as theres been to much good quality work put into the project to back out, such as the overworld, the storylines and backgrounds, religions, star signs, created by Meridrak, every town has a history.
Also the graphics made by Tony Rivers, and scripts by various scripters.

But, we really do need the help to get this project up, so think back it <3 :D
thanks.

p.s Nice signature Wan xd

I wasn't creditting Tom, bud.
I just said "I love the tileset, Tom".
That doesn't say that I think he made it o_O, it just means that i'm talking to him.
"Okay i'll do it later, Mom"
For example.
You just misunderstood what I said.
But in -no way- did I credit Tom for the tiles.
