Zone Gfx Guide.

To begin with, Someone sticky this.

Ok, Most players having been getting on me about this, because I said I would get it done, and I haven't. So here it is.

First off, You'll need an outline of the Weapon/Item you want to make for Zone.

http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/733...uidept1kx3.png
As you can see, I choose the outline of the Shotgun I made.

--------------

Now, Your going to need to pick/choose your colors. Now, remember, Zone is a dark server. So Im going to use a Dark Grey color, for my Weapon.

After you've choosen the colors you want to work with, Fill the outline in with it.

--------------

Ok, So your probly asking, "Then what?".

Now you need to add shades to the weapon/item. (I always start with the Lighter colors first, But you can go with the darker ones if you want to.)

Now, think of the weapon/item your making. Ask yourself "What parts of the weapon stick out, And what part of the weapon/item are blocked by the light". (use the example for help if your confused. lol.)

http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/1...uidept3ft1.png(I zoomed in a bit, because you shouldn't go from dark to light really quick.)

--------------

Alright, Now that you've got all of the Lighting figured out, we need to go brighter. (See example)

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3...uidept4jm3.png
(notice how I don't completly take out the lighter shade before that)

--------------

Ok, Now we have to repeat that same step over and over, Until it's been full. (see examples)

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/3...uidept5ko5.png

http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/6...uidept6vr8.png

http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9...uidept7ae3.png

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/503...uidept8md3.png

http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/8...uidept9zd1.png

Alright, now that the lighter half of the shading is done, we'll need the darker half. So get the main color of the weapon/item back, and this time, instead of going lighter, go darker (but not to dark...stop before it gets to black...see examples).

http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/541...idept10gz0.png

http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/6...idept11ef4.png

Remember what I said earlier, You dont want to go too dark. So this will be the last shade I use, Before it gets to dark.

http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/2...idept12am0.png

And, Finally this is what you get in the end product.

-----------------

And that's all that it takes to make a weapon/item for Zone. Try it a few times, using the same outline if you want, just to get the feel of it. Then when you've done it enough to where you think you know where things should go, make your own outlines, and work on your own weapons/items. And when you think there good enough, post them in the Gfx Section of the forums. G'luck!

Also, if you wish to use the program I used for this, get the lastest Paint Shop Pro. Right now, that's psp11. :)

Look at other pistols/rifles/firepower (Depending what you are GFXing) to give you an idea?

Nice one Sayian.

Also people, outline is just as important as coloring. You gotta have a good outline or else it'll just look like ****, no matter how you shade it.
