or is it a situation where servers might make themself facebook compatible then inexplicably have the goalposts moved at the last minute and be left scratching their heads?

If there interested in this route stefan lets them know whats required and expected of them. As far as the goalpost goes its actually common sense.

i just want to know if this is something which is part of the plan

because if not then the goalposts will always move and so its not worth hoping for it
