Graphic Uploads

Player outfit images can now be uploaded in game.
This can be done simply by clicking "Show Options" in the bottom right of the screen, selecting "Upload Graphic" and clicking Apply, then you just have to browse to and select your file for upload.

If successful, the file will then await approval from a member of Staff, every member of Staff with access to the Player Graphics folder has a tool to preview and accept/reject upload requests.

Upon the intial upload request the file will be checked to see if it is either a .png, or .mng file.
There is also a filesize limit of 30,000 bytes currently.
The file name will be checked to see if it follows procedure.

The naming procedure for Player Graphics is:
classic_imagetype_name_id.extention

For example: classic_head_stefan_01.png

The name does not strictly have to be the account/community name, there is also the option of setting id to "personal" which along with the name as the community name will allow only that player name to use the image, for example:
classic_body_stefan_personal.png.

You will recieve comfirmation of an Upload Request being accepted/rejected whether you are online at the time of the process or you have logged on afterwards.
If there are any problems or for instance you have an animated image of a particularly large filesize there is always the option to get images uploaded through contacting Staff.

I've decided to make all of the old Player Graphics that were uploaded to the server before the wipe, which however do not follow the new naming convention available for download, should anyone want to re-upload files to the server they have uploaded before (or re-obtain them):

http://www.classicgraal.net/prewipeheads.zip

http://www.classicgraal.net/prewipeshields.zip

(About 19 megabytes compressed altogether)

The filenames are huge. Can you use a custom sethead system whereby it will accept "sethead rufus_01.png" as opposed to "sethead classic_rufus_01.png" and are you using community names over account names?

Just made it so something like "sethead rufus_01.png" should work,
this option should work as long as the name doesn't contain the type of image it is, so it wouldn't work with "sethead noobhead_01.png" etc.

And yes Community names are being used as opposed to account names.

Cool. Another thing I noticed was the lack of an "ID" for 'personal' graphics; does that mean we can only have one personal upload per account? I hope it does because 'personal' graphics suck.

It means you can have a single personal image for each different type,
so a personal head, body, sword, shield and hat, but no more.

It would be nice if you could upload graphics for your guild, restricting them to the members of that guild like a personal head/body/shield/hat would. An example of why this would be nice would be with BTK who have used a spartan helmet hat for a long time now; they always wear it, and it is a part of their main attire. I do believe it would be possible to do a check to see if whoever was setting it was in the actual guild up, and if they've been removed or aren't in the guild, they'd wouldn't be able to wear the graphic. I think this would be favorable with some people.

Something to think about before I reupload US' graphics.

Should put a GUI together like on Val, their head/body/shield/hat chooser is great.

Rather ironic that a Manager of one server(Zodiac) is telling another Manager of an other(Classic) to do something that Zodiac doesnt even have. Isn't it?

Not really, and was that really a reason to bump a 6-month-old thread?

Seeing how the Classic Board is so inactive, I thought I may have sparked a conversation within there. And I see it had worked... I guess....?

Not possible.
