make V5 more like V2

i mean this for the players, not for the developers. the developers should have the most up-to-date and recent applications than graal can offer, but players need to have the simplistic version of graal back. V2 always felt right in my opinion, the color scheme it used, combined with the bare essentials for signing in and connecting to a server was awesome. the new client, with it's windows-esque menu's and confusing options to do things that aren't even graal related makes a new comer be overwhelmed, and downright confused. graal need's to adopt more of the K.I.S.S. system - keep it simple stupid

V2 was the best, but it's not going to happen. You know graal.....

Here's an idea.. skin the GUI back to the green form, and try and get it replaced as the default?

If anything V2 was slightly more complex than the current client.

Also I what are these confusing options you speak of.

Oh yeah someone should provide comparison pictures too..

Maybe a new skin to make it look like V2?
But as for features-wise, No, just no, don't even say V2 is better.

The new playerlist is amazing, being able to server-PM people and see all your buddies online, and you can idle on login and get messages without being kicked off.

all i was talking about with options was the weird windows-style menu at the bottom of the screen. it's very annoying and makes things more difficult. i hate having to always minimize it when i accidentally press enter twice

You severely overstate how confusing Graal's UI is... Especially when compared to similar games.

could you explain that in a bit more detail?

v4 or v5 at heart are superior to v2 but the aesthetics need to go back to the v2-v3 era.

V3 was horrible, I openly support a UI Graphics revision to V2.

I didn't mind V3 to much, although it looked horrible it brings back some really old memories. I liked it better back then because I just liked the server tabs. However, I did find the original Graal 3D skin was pretty cool. I actually still might have a Graal 3D News letter somewhere..

I wouldn't mind just going back to v4. I don't recall if that still used the tabs for playerworlds, though; I liked that a lot better than what we have now with the junky-looking Toon style.

It's been a while since I have seen the V2 login screen, it's been about 6 or 7 years now. Also in that link, the V3 3D is the one I probably liked the best.

fowlplay4 07-23-2009 03:57 AM

V4 screen is definitely better than V5, hell if it had some scripted scenes, and so on.. It'd be one sweet login window.

I'm curious as to what login window?
