Observer Mode pending removal!
To keep everyone up to date, I received an email from Stefan on October 17 regarding removing observer mode. He states that he will need Unixmad to approve of the removal, as well as perform an inspection of the Gelat Shop items. I have provided him all of the information he requested on the same day, so hopefully Observer mode will be removed very shortly.
Crono (not me) also suggested removing the limitation of not letting trial accounts in the spar arena, allowing them to spar and lose rate as anyone else would. I don't think this is a bad idea, as we already have anti-laming things in place for the spar arena as it is. Any opinions on this? I would like to close with 2 things, the first being congrats to Staffeh becoming our PR Admin, and we are HIRING STAFF. We are looking for practically every type of staff team member, so if you are interested in applying contact one of the department admins in order to find out how to apply for a position. If you want observer mode removed quicker, you know where we are as far as the server staff are concerned! |
DOUBLE POST OH EM GEE
I really want to make a news post about everything that is going on to attract more attention, but WE REALLY NEED OBSERVER MODE REMOVED FIRST. That is probably the single biggest thing of everything, and with observer mode being removed, the limitations that are in place on trials will actually make sense. Because right now, the trials are getting nothing and being punished for it. |
I agree observer mode is pretty annoying for trials and removing it would be easier for them to spar and do events without having to stop every 5-10 minutes(?) being in observer mode all of a sudden
|
I will help adding the gelat items and then see if we can remove the observer mode.
|
Gratz.

About time

Nooooooo!!!!
I wish Classic servers had observermode! I actually like the fact that I can idle daily on a server and not be disconnected. Now that Testbed is gone, and I cannot use RC on my 'Classic Account', which is good for nothing else since I hate getting on the classic servers, the best thing now is being removed. :[ I don't like every 15 minutes having to move to be able to stay online. Even talking, constantly pressing D to farm, or playing Tetris on a server will get you kicked. Observer mode on server Frontier was the best thing I had. :] |

Yeah, uh, I'll believe it when I see it :(.

All these restrictions are making me want to play less, even if observer gets removed. If I lose my gold subscription then my gralats and ep get reset to a low number... It makes me want to stay a trial so I don't have to worry about that. At least make it so u get your spare ep and gralats back when you upgrade.

I have a trial account on UN and a subscribed account.
All of my EP, Gralats, and Items are on my trial account. I'm afraid that if I log onto my trial account I will lose much of my stuff due to the new restrictions that put a max on gralats and eps for trial :/. What should I do? |
Don't you think you should list all the restrictions? Is this already in place?

Pro tip: You can lighten your trial restrictions over time quietly as your playercount increases.
|
You don't :p

What if I then spend 200 gralats? do I have 808 now or 800? My question is do you actually stop earning money at 1000 or can you just not "hold" more than 1000 at once for purchases and such. |

noun 1. Also called interrogation point, interrogation mark. a mark indicating a question: usually, as in English, the mark (?) placed after a question. 2. something unanswered or unknown: His identity is still a question mark to most of us. 3. an anglewing butterfly, Polygonia interrogationis, having silver spots shaped like a question mark on the underside of each hind wing. question mark —n 1. the punctuation mark ?, used at the end of questions and in other contexts where doubt or ignorance is implied 2. this mark used for any other purpose, as to draw attention to a possible mistake, as in a chess commentary 3. an element of doubt or uncertainty Where as I may not have anything to do with an anglewing butterfly, no one will truly know who I am, and I am to be questioned. Some people may not be too sure about me, or know too much about me when they think they might... Although, of course, this could be said for almost everyone. ;] To draw a attention to a possible mistake definitely fits as well, are some of the things I do mistakes or only as I want them to seem? Aside from all that, I do tend to ask a lot of questions, and I like the fact that I can totally say "My name is David K?" where a comma could fit into that. TL:DS? David K? is my artist name, dig it. P.S.: I'm also very controversial... however forgetful so my arguments aren't always that great in the long run, especially when I lose thought while talking. :/ I do go to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and write my name as such. Although they have never questioned it. :C Next semester I'm backdating all my work a few years. if the due date is 10/11/2012 I will write 10/11/1995 on all of my papers exactly the same amount of years away... Just to see if they notice.. sounds like a great idea :o |
So...... that happened. Any time table on the whole removing observer mode thing?

Stefan, I don't think Unix is going to come back on any time soon. Just remove it without his permission...

it is possible to remove it VIA Script, but that could get the server in trouble.

I'm sorry but the observer mode cannot be removed yet. Unholy Nation is a special case because it's not based on leveling or so, so that limitations are not necessary making as much sense as on a server like Zodiac or Kingdoms.
Our goal is to make Graal more free-to-play, but it's not that easy since the servers are mainly made and managed by player staff and the money is made in selling items to player, so things like the item system and economy need to be more secured. Hopefully we can do more about this in 2012. |
