Abuse of Tag Helpers?

Well, this has ben bugging me for a while. I see people wearing [OOC] tags when they have a kingdom tag on also, for example.. [OOC] Aaron Lewis of (Dustari) if you are ooc you don't wear a kingdom tag, you wear no tag, or maybe a guild tag but not the kingdom tag. and i see leaders setting there names to something like I am making levels ( Zormite ) this gets a little old, the tags should be made so the people can wear them IN CHARACTER, and OOC should be used when your tag is OFF! sorry, this is just how i feel.

yeah...true

also seeing a bunch of [OCC] in the list pisses me off :(

Metal-Slug 08-12-2001 12:04 AM

they are just tags man, i mean, whats it matter? it shows they are part of a group.

Yeah, when they are IN CHARACTER, OOC means they are not acting as a part of that group

Evolve 08-12-2001 12:08 AM

if they're out of charactor why add the tag that the charactor uses?

thats like me having a gun but saying i'm not going to kill any thing/one.

erm...its pointless

Correct

cheaterzx22 08-12-2001 12:29 AM

Come on people, its just a tag. Maybe they wanna show they're in that group but don't wanna rp right then. If this actually matters to you that much you need to get a life.

As i said before, if they don't wanna RP take off the tag! if they do, then put it on. The whole purpose of fricken tags is for RPing. and I need to get a life? really now bubba, because i post something that bugs me? what a flamer

cheaterzx22 08-12-2001 12:41 AM

Yeah, good point. But I still don't get why this matters so much to you.

Metal-Slug 08-12-2001 01:15 AM

JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE A KINGDOM TAG ON DOESN'T MEAN THEY HAVE TO RP, IF YOU HAVE BEEN PLAYING GRAAL LONG ENOUGH YOU WOULD RELIZE THIS

I agree 100%, OOC tags are gratuitous.

but this isnt val, this is new main, god, it is just a tsg, deal with it

FatherDante 08-12-2001 03:12 AM

The reason OOC tags were created is because Dustari wanted their members wearing tags as much as possible so that it would seem that their kingdom was much larger.

Metal-Slug 08-12-2001 03:12 AM

it worked

TrueHeaT 08-12-2001 03:13 AM

The Dustari OOC tags can be taken any way you look at them. Though my original design for them was to be a way for Dustari members to talk amongst themselves and discuss the Kingdom, etc. without having to use forums, external chat rooms, etc. Yes, they do take up space, but no, they are not pointless. They do have a point, something which you people have failed to see. Any other questions about the current Dustari can be directed to me, anyways, just make a thread or continue posting it here.

I just don't think they need a tag when they are ooc, that is all

Birdbird_0 08-12-2001 04:47 AM

=/ this is a pointless topic, OOC tags mean out of character, and the dustari castle has many npcs for rooms that require the (Dustari) in their names, if you are ooc, that means that you are still apart of the kingdom, participating in duscusions, but not any rps at the moment, if that person did not want to rp or be in Dustari for a bit they would have no ooc tag,
ok exsample,
Squire unknown of (Dustari)
he is approched by the prince in an rp fastion
"Greetings young Squire, how goes this blessid day?"
later in the day
that person does not want to rp, but only hang out and talk to frinds,
[OOC] Squire unknown of (Dustari)
the prince apporches him
(hey whats up)

now, with no ooc tag you have to talk with ooc:odfajidfpoajsd
or (with brakets)
the tag elimanates that, and who cares if this is not val. it is still an rping envorment,
as I said, this topic is pointless,
well maby not, it might of tought you guys something about my badd spelling and ooc tags in dustari.

Skatche 08-12-2001 05:18 AM

Some reasons for allowing [OOC] tags:

1) People in your guild are still grouped together in the Playerlist
2) You can still read/send guild messages
3) You can still enter the kingdom-only rooms
4) It shows that you could, at a moment's notice, switch into character and RP someone's @ss! (joking :D)

Everyone I've seen today on 2k1 has [OOC] then nick then the kingdom name. -_-
