GServer community name updates

A new gserver version has been uploaded to the machines running the development servers, restart them with /global servercontrol this restart. Zone Debug has already been updated as well. This update is fixing a few problems with community names, we are still working on making commands like /open accept community names.

Updates:
- ban also shows the account name, before it only displayed the community name
- it doesn't allow the creation of communitynames like Graal# anymore, and I have cleared 6 accounts which were using it; there are still around 80 older accounts which have as name "graalnumber" but for them communityname is equal to the account name and the number is below 100000
- several RC actions show now account name and community name (e.g. Stefan changed attributes of MyCommunityname (Graal123456))
- in RC when watching the profile or history of guests then it's showing the pc:id instead of guest

Nice, but I am not authorized to restart my server :(

Does the Server Options just accept community names yet?

Thank you.

Good.

Should force them to select a unique community name, after the 2nd or so visit to Graal.

Admins 09-05-2009 07:55 PM

Yes it should remind people who have gold to choose a community name.

fowlplay4 09-05-2009 08:27 PM

Should allow/force people with Playerworlds subscription to change their name at least once from the Graal###### too, and Gold's can change it however much they wish (that's how I assume it is now). Until then the days of remembering people by account/communityname will be very bleak.

Nice :)

I've changed the account info on the server list to show "Community name: Choose one" with blinking text, to motivate people to choose one :)

Can you please upload this on Era and restart the gserver?

I think a PM to Stefan would be both smarter and more effective.

Stefan rarely reads forum PMs; he is more inclined to check threads he regularly posts in.

I'll probably catch him on Graal later, though.

Begs to differ.

PM Info.. Just so my SFX can upload his MP3s, and players will be able to play them in-game without streaming/other methods.

I've updated the download size limit on Zodiac to 20Mbyte and will upload the new gserver to the other machines in a few hours.
Update: uploaded the gserver, restarted Era (also allows the TSocket things now like on Era Dev).

Thanks Stefan.
