Inform us!
I demand that the people in control of Classic keep the people of classic updated every week on EVERY DETAIL!
We deserve to know EVERY SINGLE THING that gets added and removed from classic, no more BS. Even players like me that dont even play deserve it because I wasted hours of my life playing Classic, so Bell, Thor, Master Storm, and whoever else, you owe me and every other classic player 100 percent full report every week on classics status. If for one week you dont do ****, then say "this week: didnt do ****" I wanna be informed. |
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye.
|
TBH Oni, didn't you quit graal? This might be a decent suggestion, but I'm just wondering.
|
Added a new CTF map.
Have a marvelous week. This is a joke btw. |

Well,
I suppose we could post every single minor detail here, even if it isn't necessary, there's nothing to hide or anything, but wouldn't that cause a massive cut in the amount of time actually making the updates? I intend to let the public know what tasks have been completed and what tasks are left to do as we go along, but to expect every last detail is maybe not so much unrealistic but a ridiculous concept. If we're going to be wiping the server clean that's quite alot of filenames that need listing. |
General updates would be nice, and...
No, they wouldn't take very much time, seeing as that was mainly what I was doing for the past 6 months, where all storm did was post a thread about the monthly a couple times. You seemed to only come out of the woodwork on the forums since the server went UC. Bad PR imo. |
First week: Arguing about Custom/Default Systems, custom was chosen, even thought all the players in the poll chose default
|
Custom isn't bad in some instances, like for right click profile menus instead of default profile. The custom nickname systems aren't bad.
Movement systems made custom are also a good way to prevent a lot of speed or wall hacking. For Classic, I would scrap all but nickname and gc systems, maybe a couple other non-primary custom systems i cant think of now. Then work on building a decent movement system while retaining default HD |

I'd honestly quit classic for real if that's all it's going to amount to. |

We are working on an overworld plan. Happy?
|
Not until I see it.
Actually, I'll probably just be satisfied if Babord is still there. |

Thought I'd let you all know what's happening right now.
Thor and WhiteDragon are touching up the custom systems. Hopefully, somebody could add more detail to that. The rest of the developers are converting/making levels. Master Storm is doing his own thing somewhere. |
And I'm..
Well.. check that post I made in future improvements. |

I thought Bell was going to make sure progress is happening?
|
I've been moving house and don't have an internet connection currently (I've been checking the forums etc. from work). Our ISP confirmed to me this morning that we'll be connected from Friday. I did let people on RC know about this, and both Thor and Bell were contacted directly. I also posted about this on our development forums to make sure everyone involved knew the situation.
I am still able to check emails and forums messages daily, so anyone wanting to contact me will have no problem doing so. At least try to contact me before assuming I'm not around. ^^ |
Oh man, always ****ing something.

Having said that something I have created and have been adding to over the last month is a public install package, accessable by clicking "Start", and then "Install Packages" in game called "Editor NPCs". Downloading this package will create a list of script examples within Pre Defined NPCs the next time you open the Editor. These are pretty much just joining the appropriate classes in use on the server, and setting the necessary variables for customisation. Ofcourse this is useless offline, but it's still something which be a useful addition in future. It is planned for all Quest resources/Baddies/Level resources etc to be included within the install package aswell as documented. This is something which can give both players and new Developers alike a good idea of how to make stuff on the server, whether it be touching up a player house with a few neat effect scripts you wouldn't otherwise have the knowledge to make or attempting something intended to provide gameplay as side content. |
