Cant log onto classic, and lagging problems.

Well, I got two problems.

First one. I lag like ****, never happend before. You cannot blame the computer, my graphic card, my router (probably). I got package losses, when checking my lag in graal it goes into pikes. Doing tracert to the graal ip it jumps up to some hundreds of ms somewhere around the end of my host server and the first receiving server in europe (62-101-55-33.lidero.net). This happens in periods.

Second one. I cant log onto graal classic only. All other servers are fine, and a guest accounts fine. We've tried to change my start level, and remove my flags. It just says connecting and after a while it says im disconnected for not moving.

I've (with some help) reported both problems to stefan but not any help so far.

I looked into that with Bell the other day, did a reset.
She said something about your account needing a global disconnect or something.

According to your stats and account, you have the same stats etc as someone who has never logged on before, so there shouldn't really be anything preventing you as far as script bugs or level bugs like that.
Past the reset, you'd have to ask a global if you still can't connect now.

Yea stefan got a message about a global reset a week ago. Hopefully it will happen soon.

Does that mean my stats are at 0, or just that i havent logged on but still have the stats?

DarkCloud_PK 03-24-2009 12:36 PM

Hopefully it works when you get it.

Sorry that there isn't much we can do as far as on Classic's end.

your stats are 0
like you have never logged on before.
not even online seconds, which wouldnt have gotten reset.

so on our end of things, its like you're not logging in at all.

Thats really weird... hopefully the stats arent completly gone.

DarkCloud_PK 03-24-2009 01:07 PM

they are, it is if you have never logged onto the server before.
were you able to successfully log on before? if so, when?

Last monday it didnt work. 15 mars

DarkCloud_PK 03-24-2009 01:13 PM

On the account MisTRal_007 or as a guest?
If on MisTRal_007, I'm sorry to say it, but Bell fully reset your account in that case, if you had any stats from the past few years, they aren't there anymore.

Both on mistral ofcourse. A guest allways worked.

Weird since she said she didnt fully reset it.

DarkCloud_PK 03-24-2009 01:20 PM

I'm pretty sure it was reset, I don't remember 100 percent as it was a few days ago and a few things were being tried. However, I didn't think onlinetime got reset with resets from RC, but Bell is global and I don't know if that changes anything regarding resets, I haven't reset an account in over 5 years myself.

Still doesn't explain why you still aren't able to log on though.
Might be in Stefan's hands.

DarkCloud_PK 03-24-2009 02:36 PM

We found a backup of your account and restored your account accordingly.
Now it's just a matter of figuring out why you cant get online.

Thanks. i guessed something like that existed.

DarkCloud_PK 03-24-2009 04:28 PM

Try logging on now that you have been backed up.

mistral_007 03-24-2009 04:41 PM

no not working

DarkCloud_PK 03-24-2009 04:55 PM

It might be your connection with the server but I don't know why it would only be doing it for your account and not guest accounts.

However, there isn't much I can do from Classic's end so I forwarded this back to the PWA who may be better able to help you out.

Matt 03-24-2009 05:02 PM

What message do you get when you attempt to connect?

Bell 03-24-2009 06:07 PM

He gets no message other than the usual "connecting to Classic" for an eternity until he finally gets disconnected.

xXziroXx 03-24-2009 06:15 PM

Sounds like "startlevel=" isn't defined in the serveroptions, but I doubt that's the case for a Classic server.

Would be funny if that was the case but definitely not the problem.

mistral_007 03-24-2009 06:59 PM

Well graal is buggy is the problem...
Can't even support older graphic drivers, or drivers from the "wrong" place? That's just weird since it's a 2d game.

MiniOne 03-25-2009 10:35 AM

For some reason I believe the lag has something to do with the graal client, since I never lagged two years ago, and I've gotten a newer more powerful computer but stuck with the same internet and yet it lags more then ever.

It's a 2D game in a 3D engine, actually.

Not mine, since it's not normal lag and the isolation of the problem says otherwise. My lag is more like teleporting.

Someone could just restart the npcserver to fix the problem, since there are no players on Classic anyway x-x
This happens sometime because of a fix to prevent server crash: it's waiting for the npcserver to accept the logout of the player but the npcserver somehow misses that. I think in newer versions of the graal server it's automatically timing out after 20 minutes, will check if all machines have the latest servers.

Thank you.

And the lagging issue?

It's nice to know that you notice Classic has almost no players at all..
Do you wonder why?:asleep:

Is the GServers and NPCservers multi-threaded?
