I want a gang!
 

I'm always willing to listen to any gang ideas for current gangs (bases, guns, themed items, etc) and for NEW gangs. Yes, that’s right; I'm open to applications for gangs at any time.

Want to make a new gang? First keep in mind I want unique ideas that Era is lacking. I don't want just some silly name and a gun, I want a theme and a look and to be like, hey those guys are this group and they remind me of this irl or something I can recognize. Black Holst and Blazing Bandits both lack a theme really, but I guess Blazing Bandits (though I'm not sure why they are so blazing) is at least a Bandit theme, though they have no "look" of a bandit. Sometimes you have to be a bit stereotypical just to make people KNOW what theme you are going after.

Just keep that in mind, try your best and be creative. It's a huge privilege to own a gang on Era considering they are so limited, so put some elbow grease into anything you write and show me why I should accept YOUR application over the others. If you are willing to level, GFX, gani, etc...That’s a huge plus for getting your gang uploaded.

I need the following information after you considered all this...

1. Your account/nick and who’s going to run it.
2. A name and complete rank system for the gang (this is a very important step, don’t half ass it.
3. Your theme you wish to accomplish
4. Any ideas on the base itself or lack of base. Be unique; don't be like BH/BB/LC
5. The gang weapon you'd like to receive. I'd love it if you stayed away from the whole gun aspect and went a different route such as an explosive or something very different from the rest. Can be a gun, but needs to fit the theme.
6. Any rules by which your members will have to go by. I want gangs to start doing more than just hiring a bunch of people to raid, I want them to actually try to organize themselves and have some sort of ranking system made where people work for a ranks and have RULES they MUST follow. But the gang has to be unique and lead well, otherwise who'd care enough to stick around for a rank?
7. Tell me exactly why you think your idea should be uploaded. I want to know your reasoning for your gang. I want to know each and every detail you can give me so I can make a complete decision on it or tell you what needs fixed.

1. papajchris:Zeus - I would like to run it.

I ran nations on zodiac, successful guilds on many servers, and a server. I also have a good xbox clan, and we do tournaments for 1000's of dollars. I know how to plan and command. i think i could handle this.
2. Gang name could be as simple as "Peace Keepers." I didnt want to use names that have already been used, but if you think another name would be better jsut say the words

Ranks would/could either be SWAT ranks or normal U.S. Police ranks

Swats ranks are:

Breacher

Each of those ranks stand for something important in SWAT.

The theme we would be representing is Peace Keepers. When gangs are fighting each other, or if players are pking, we would step in and try to kill pkers. Not only would this make PPA more usable, but Bher would also get more bountys on Peace Keepers. We would patrol the beach and such to make sure players who are trying to earn money can do it in peace.

4.The base its self would not be a base, but more of a head quarters. In order to prevent raiding we would have the base be No-PK or limit the rooms non gang members can go in.

5. As peace keepers, us using guns would be hypocritical. So maybe weapons such as sandbag gun, nightsticks, handcuffs, tazor, flash nades, smoke. Obviously we wouldn't get all these weapons, but maybe one or two to make up for not having a strong gun.

**EDIT: I just remember rubber bullet guns. Basically these would just stun a player until another Peace keeper coems and handcuffs him.

as i said before, as a Peace Keeper, each rank is important. We will need players to stun players and people to handcuff. Its all teamwork

6. These are the rules I would have:
1. Must wear a uniform
2. Cannot pk players unless he or she shoots at you first
3. Your rank is a position not only in the gang, but in raids, stick to your position.
4. Follow the plans that are created (We will have strategic plans to secure areas
and elimnate enemies"
5. Harrassing players, swearing, gloating, etc.. will not be tolerated on tag
6. Do not retreat unless told so.
7. Whoever has the highest rank on tag is in control at that time.
8. Patrol common places such as the beach every now and then.
7. This gang should be uploaded because its not really a gang, but a new aspect to era.
Currently there are no gangs/businesses on era that prevent pking. This isn't a staff guild or anything for other people reading, so pking is still legal, but it imo this gang would make era way more fun more many. im sure parties of people would try to ambush peace keepers and such.
Now i didn't mention this above, but you may be wondering "WTF no gun? So how are they going to pk people?"

Well, i think Peace Keepers would have 2 roles. We wouldnt use guns on individuals or most likely even parties. What we would do is tazor them or so, and then use handcuffs on them. What this does then is it warps them to our jail at the HQ, and they are free to leave right after, but it allows whoever is being pked to go run and heal and get to safety.

Then our second role would be to USE guns if nessecary. An example of when it would be nessecary is when we are trying to break up a gang fight and we are getting lamed or pked to much to be able to run up and handcuff someone. So we would then use sandbag guns to knockout (Basically kill) then handcuff. Or we could just use real guns and actaully kill, no sandbagging. It would depend on how many items we could be allowed and how much of a chance we would have to be able to handcuff people in raids.

We wouldnt act like a normal gang, as we would set up traps with flashes and such, and try to divide and conquer groups of people. We aren't going for kills or for points, simply to stop the pking

we are to keep peace and not let any thing get out of control we are determinded to keep era in control using tactical responce methods
did i mention have high grade military weapons like m-4 m-16 spaz 12 shotguns He grenades,smoke,flash,teargas,etc.

using four seated hummers with manned gun turrents on it and tanks and black hawks

My theme i wish to accomplish is a "Underground Resistance" theme. Usually quite, but when something extreme happenes they Strike.
Looks just like normal people, but they come out fighting for what they believe in. They will have a Berret or a plain black bandana.

The base i was thinking of is a old rundown Subway Station. As you get farther into the base, it becomes more of a Technological base, The subway is a "Cover Up"

My gang gun idea is pretty simple. Molotovs. And some sort of handgun/shotgun. Usually people to are Rioting through Molotovs.

They have to have political ideas on and off Graal. I want people KNOW what there talking about. And have skills, of course.
If they see 2 people PKing, they would rush the one with more HP, then go for the lower one. The usual rules apply to this, No PKing each other, WE ARE BROTHERS. If a lower rank wants to lead a raid, Let him take it over.

Because this is something new. Its not a idle on tag and wait for a raid/get raided. I'm very intersted in Politics myself, so it would be fun to run a Resistance Group. And the base would be AMAZING. Our members dont stand on the street corner, like someother gangs.

The unused court house, the one that is upper right from the Casino.

The Arbitrator, it would be a briefcase with a built in sub machine gun, the damage would be 15 with the same fire rate as a M16 but the same spread as the P90, so basically a M16 with less damage and more spread. But the real kicker is it would also have a built in grenade launcher to make up for the bad damage on the sub machine gun. It would fire grenades, such as the ones from Ammo Mart, the petrol from Gun Point, and the Concussion Grenades from Pyrotech. Not only would it be good for the businesses but it'd also have a use for ALL of the explosives that not alot of people use on a everyday basis. It's not going to use the raw explosives either, the explosives would be used for the grenade shells for the grenade launcher. Petrol for gas shells, the Concussion grenades for smoke shells, and the Grenades and Stielhand for explosive shells.

If a low rank wants a higher rank, they will have to present their case to all of the recruiters and above. Such as if for example a Guard wanted to be a Court Artist. They'd have to give reasons as to why they should be the Court Artist, I was hoping for the item system that Ninja uses for ranks to be implemented as well. If it is used, I would like to have the items I.D cards. It will also be mandatory for everyone to Role Play, I don't feel like having Ninja being the only role playing gang out there.

The rules would be almost the same as any courtroom. You cannot accuse another gang member of doing something unless you have THE proof that they did so. So as scamming you or your friend, and because the gang will be a more lawful type, scamming, mass pming saying another gang sucks or deserves to be deleted, and any other form of disrespect and such is not tolerated. If people gang hop, I will instantly remove them and black list them.

Because I believe that a courtroom gang has not yet been proposed to you yet, but that's going based on nothing. It would also use the courtroom, which has not been used for too much. It will give players a chance to play the better side of a gang instead of a bandit or mercenary or ninja, playing as a courtroom you cannot just be that one "guy". It takes a group to complete things, not a one man army.


EDIT: Here's the back story, because people were confused as to why people from a courtroom would go out and kill people.

All of Era is filled with nothing but criminals(PKers) and there is no law or even a conduct to be follow along with everyone. The courtroom has lost it's own purpose, even though they still believe laws should be followed. So, everyone involved with the courts decided to take the law into their own hands and to dish out sentences the only way they know how to deal with murderers. By killing and shooting them, of course this contradicts their own rules and morals but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

I totally agree with Lances idea, a courtroom fits the modern idea of era, all of this rules sounds reasonable and i think he would make a good leader, i also love the gun idea its brilliant, on the other hand i dident like the other ideas, the swat type sounded just like another one of those noob partys taht wear all of the swat stuff and walk around and all get killed by 1 man, on the other hand i dident like Snoros idea, i just quit zodiac i dont want to log onto er and get spammed by some random mage, and the ranking system sounds like it was pulled rigth off zodiac, i think the undead and all those ideas belong on another server or a global guild and the swat ideas arent original and wouldent add any exitment, i think lances is the best so far so far and best thought out, the best of luck Lance i hope you win!:p

You have a point, but it's different in many ways. They are reliant on the shurikens, where we are reliant on both of our swords.

It's basically the difference between Bratski Krug and Los Carteles. It's a bad comparison, but both of them supported one race or country. In perspective, my gang resembles that of Medieval times. Something that hasn't been done on Era.

His idea is decent. The reason GC changed ALS was because it made no sense, Artichts pking.... Well this is the same thing, why would a group of court workers suddenly turn bad? I don't think he would approve it, but best of luck

I've been getting PM's, reading this thread and getting emails about gang ideas and I gotta say I'm impressed by a lot of your unique ideas.

I've been getting everything from water creatures that hate the land dwelling humans to Magic to Thieves using the bow to cults and this Court gang I'm reading about. Though I'm not sure exactly what a Court Gang would do or why they'd be shoot people. lol

But yeah, I love the creativity, just try to stick to something that would have a reason to PK or at least have something they would want to accompish.

As for magic, I'd try to stay away from that honestly haha. Though it's a very creative idea, it's a bit much for Era. The only reason Ninja kinda gets away with it is because that katana has been floating around for ages and Ninja has existed in many different forms, not to mention Terisu and Tachi. But yeah, you guys are starting to get what I want and I love it <3

Oh and P.S.
Yeah I would like to keep away from another sword being released, but I'm still up for any suggestions.

IMO i think that LAnce was AIMing for maybe a courrutped courtroom who takes there work a little to far and decides to take crime into there own hands, so in a way there good and evil i na way, so it contradicts itself, whihc would make the role playing intense since it is going to be role playing, all in all this would make era wayyyy more fun i nthe long run:p

It would really break immersion if ranks were displayed on your name, so for role playing purposes I prefer ranks not be displayed.

The following ranks although simple would server their purpose, once again they would be displayed in the players profile only. Boss, Underboss, Adviser (recruiter), Gunman, Smuggler, Associate

Although ranks wouldn't be displayed members would have a nick name they would have to wear at all times while on tag, the format of the nickname would be something like Jean "Le Boucher" Robyler (Le Cercle Rouge). Nick names would be chosen by the player then approved by the gang leader, players would also be encouraged to create back stories for their characters when joining. This helps the player create material to role play about and build their character upon.

3. Theme

The theme for the gang would be a French organized crime syndicate, which earns their income by smuggling. We would focus mainly on role playing and creating a haven in Era for those who do role play or would like to learn to role play. From time to time we would PK, defend our headquarters and make raids out of retaliation but player killing would not be the focus of the gang.

4. Base

The gangs base would be a multistory building that would look rather plane on the outside, the best description I could give would be similar to an office building. When a player enters through the main door they are taken to a lobby. Above the lobby would be two floors, the second floor would contain a large meeting room and a healing room, they would both be linked by a long hall way. The top floor would contain several offices and a sort of computer room, the monitors would display different regions of the world and would have npcs that could change your body to that of the gangs uniform. Under the building would be basement that is connected to the sewer, this is where the gang weapon could be bought along with ammo, crates and other boxes would be around this area which hold our "smuggled" goods. Its under the building because from a role playing sense we are trying to hide our criminal activities.

I could create the base levels, I however would need help with scripts.


5. The gang weapon

The gangs gun would be the French Modele 1935 pistol, which is an automatic handgun. I could provide pictures if you would like.

6. Rules

Nick names would be worn at all times while on tag.

Gang members would be forbidden from starting wars by raiding other gangs bases without consent from the Boss, Underboss. The reason for this is because the gangs goal is to provide content for players in the form of role playing, not to become another BB/BH/LC.

Role playing is not optional, players must do their best to be online and present at role playing events, interruption of these events can lead to demotion or removal from the gang.

No off tagging.

While in character or attending a RP event your character must dress realistic, simply put nothing retarded on your head or body.

7. Why my idea should be uploaded.

I believe the idea should be uploaded simply because it is unique, currently there is nothing like it on Era and it would provide a new content to the server in the form of role playing which sadly Era is missing.

so you'd run into every base going "UH HUH HUH OUI OUI" then surrender?

1. Me (xIIIOwneDIIx: Rush) and my friend (Shadow212: Shadow) want to run a very unique Gang called Omniscent- meaning well knowledged

2. Ranks- (1)Emperor, (2)General, (3)Daimyo, (4)Loyalty, (5)Samurai, (6)Shogun, (7)Farmer and finally (8) Peasant

3. By looking at the ranks you would have a rough draft of what the Theme of the gang would be, The Japanese Hierarchy.

4. Since this server is called Era, the Japanese Hierarchy would be demolished at this stage of time, so basically it would be an underground formation of about 14 people in the gang, the Gang's base would be located South Ridge, away from trouble, meaning less players around and it would not be to big.
Maybe a Shack and 2 Underground Levels.

5. We would like the Gang Weapon to be a Crane Fan, the details of it would be, Thrown like a Boomerang and Thrusted like a Melee (It's Steel so, don't think it's one of those cheap rice paper fans you get from a Flea Market xD). The Graphics and Animations are done (If you would like to see them in action they are on Testbed)

6. The basic rules of this Gang would be, Racism will not be tolerated, any Profanity towards other players and members will also not be tolerated, Player Killing is only allowed under the (Emperor) Leader's, (General) Co-Leader's, (Daimyo) Recruiter's demand, and last but not lease any intruders in the base will be eliminated.

7. I or "we" would want our Gang to be uploaded because we've noticed other gangs just recruit and raid, our Gang is not just about raids it is about Loyalty and Supremacy.

Hello, I would like to tell you about a new gang, a gang like you've never seen before at Era. Something new, something exciting. We will not live so much around the normal city. We are the people of the nature, we will live around the forest for the most. Our base, will be a small hidden tree base, in the forest. And we will always patrol together, in big groups in the forest/city. We will always Raid gangs, and people. We are bloody killers, and our gang weapon will be: Bow. Yeah, a bow. We will be like Scouts, Bowmans, or whatever you want to call it. We will have our own outfit, similar to Robin-Hood's outfit, or something like that. Our gang, will be something new, something fun that people will like. This gang, will not "fail" I can promise you that. So, what we will have is a hidden base, somewhere in the forest among all the tree's. And our outfits, will almost look the same for everyone, a typical Archer Outfit (Robin Hood).

Also, our gang-hat will be the Feather Hat! For now, we might do a new one later on, right?

I also forgot to mention, that we are a group. We are ALWAYS together, we always go in a big group in the city. If we see a gang on the street, we will attack it, everyone will attack it. If someone of us dies, we will do our best to revive him, if we don't succeed to revive him. We most run everyone to the hospital and meet him up, as I said, we always patrol together in groups!

And of course, the Bow that has been made, will be our Gang Weapon. We could add something more too, like caltrops or anything that fits into this Gang.

Caltrops, would be great for us to have too, to set up traps and stuffs in our base/enemies base. Or in the forest itself.

Something fun, would be throwing knives! Yeah, that would be really great. The bow as a normal weapon, main weapon. And throwing knives as 2nd weapon, we should be able to throw knives at the same time as we have our bow wield.

I got some more ideas about the Bow, our gang weapon. Instead of just having normal arrows, we could have :

Poison Arrows (Gives you a blurry screen for x time). Will do the Gani/GFX/Sound for it, if needed.
Fire Arrows (Hurts you x much damage, every x seconds). Will do the Gani/GFX/Sound for it, if needed.

Also, something more for the Bow. If you press F, you will switch the Bow to burst mode, and you will now be able to shoot Two Arrows each time. Will give you more freeze when you shoot with it. Maybe also, if this aint to hard to do, some sort of list if you press for e.g "R"
you will be able to choose, which arrows you want to use when you are using the burst mode.
In that way, you could choose 1x Poison and 1x Fire, arrow. At the burst mode, in that way the enemies will get more hurt.

This may sound a bit overpowered, but don't you think it will be kinda hard to shoot the enemies with a bow? I think this is really good.

So, now for you to know what we have done so far.

Well, we are working on a few levels for this gang, I don't know if that is needed. But, may be good to have, I don't know.

So, the Rank system will go like this.
First of all, everyone that joins will start with the first rank we got. Later on, we will see how good they are in our Raids, how good they PK in spars, and how respectful they are. Also they most show loyality. That's what we want, Respect and Loyality, if someone will break the rules we can't just accept it. So, whenever we feel like someone deserves a new rank, he will be given it. But if he breaks any rules, or such things we might put him on a lower Rank. Some of the Ranks, will be some sort of Leading Ranks, so we might create Two Groups, and let two organized and good people lead a group. Thats only if we need it, and depends how we are raiding. We will also do some sort of Spar Tournaments, only to see if someones a really bad PK'er that we have missed. So, the Rank system will be followed carefully and we will not give ranks for people which don't deserves it. There will be different ranks, for different people. Like, a few of the ranks belong to each other, that means if we do two groups, some people will be in the same group (depends on the ranks) and some will not. We will have ranks, that will be able to give orders, do raids & such things. But it all most be organized, or it wont work. But that's not a problem, we can do it.

And, we are working on our Rules. We will have alot of Rules, and nobody shall break them.

I think this gang, will get really organized and be really good. Not just some random gang, that adds people/removes people all the time. No! That's not what I want, thats not what Era want.
I will make my best, to get this gang really organized and good. I promise you, that it will be so. First of all, everyone MOST follow the Rules. Nobody will Off-tag or anything like that, second of all, everybody will wear our Gang Outfit so we all fit into this Theme. We shall help our members whenever they need it. We will revive our members every time somebody dies, and we shall not talk sh*t to any other gangs or people, especially not to your fellow members, never talk bad to anyone you see. Even if you will kill five guys in a gang really easy, you shall not laugh at them or say something. Act mature, good and be a good man. Also, no racist talk will be tolerated, if a high-ranked member sees anything of this above, you might get removed. Do not break our rules! We are a strict gang, with strict rules. This will make Era more clean.

(Ranks).

1. Scout (1st Rank.) - Learning how the Gang works, showing skills & such things.

2. Archer (2nd Rank.) - Have learned some about the Gang, has shown some skills.

3. Hunter (3nd Rank.) - A great hunter, but can't use our gang weapon.

4. Marksman (4th Rank.) - A good rank, but can't use our gang weapon.

5. Yeoman (5th Rank) - A great man, powerful and strong. Cannot use our gang weapon.

6. Bow-Man (6th Rank.) - Is able to use our gang weapon.

7. Sharp-Shooter (7th Rank.) Can use the gang weapon, and shall be very tru****l.

9. Bow-master (9th Rank.) Is the Leader of the gang, well you know what a Leader can do.
Also really good, knows how to organize things & will work with this gang alot.


And, as I told you somewhere before. Yes, we are working on the Levels for our "base". That will be done soon, and we can also do anykind of GFX, I don't know whats needed tho. But, can do it, easy. About the Gani, can do too. About the SFX, will be done, if anything is needed? So yeah, basically we just need the base, and that's what we are working on. (Me & a friend).
