When was the last time you designed a level?

I am trying to understand the scope of the problem that Graal has with level designers, or lack of. I don't think there's many level designers around these days, but I could be wrong so when was the last time you actually sat down and designed a level? I'm not talking minor edits here though, major ones are fair enough but opening a level to fix a chair or something isn't quite what I mean.

Obviously if you haven't made one for a while you're not going to know exactly, but have an estimate.

Soala 01-13-2009 01:14 PM

I do design levels everyday, even if it's a bit I'm editing still.

Kill 01-13-2009 01:15 PM

Tried making some in 2005 but it was an epic fail :(.

Twinny 01-13-2009 01:22 PM

I think a couple of months ago on some backwater UC world, going back to my LAT roots

Luda 01-13-2009 01:46 PM

last friday i was making some levels, but before that i didn't make any levels for like 2 months but that was because my computer broke.

Vima 01-13-2009 02:44 PM

Took a break; maybe like 2 months. Now i've started again.
Finishing up Opan's overworld, after that i'm going to finish all Elan levels.

Crono 01-13-2009 02:57 PM

It's been a while.

Matt 01-13-2009 03:27 PM

Same here, must have about just about a year.

WanDaMan 01-13-2009 03:31 PM

Started doing some at around Christmas, before then would've been a few months. I'm currently working on a map.

Pimmeh 01-13-2009 03:46 PM

Well, me and james are preparing a project for hirings, so I am leveling quite a lot lately.
But before that... I dunno, a level a month or something? Even less... But averagely a level a month.

Loriel 01-13-2009 04:56 PM

I started messing with some cliffs and trees to test gonstruct, but then it crashed and I lost the level. So voting over a year ago.

Eagle 01-13-2009 10:06 PM

Ugh its been awhile. Christmas break I've made a few, but before then it was at least 6 months.

maximus_asinus 01-13-2009 10:14 PM

Haven't touched Graal as a whole for over a year.

DustyPorViva 01-13-2009 10:15 PM

My overworld I posted.

Tigairius 01-13-2009 10:27 PM

Not counting GK levels I'd have to say sometime within the past year, counting GK levels I'd have to say within this week.

Darlene159 01-13-2009 10:37 PM

A few months ago.

lardy227 01-13-2009 10:59 PM

I make levels everyday :3

Why wouldn't GK levels be levels?
You still use the editor for that, right?

Well, I feel that as manager of GK it is almost a given that I am sometimes designing levels for it.

I wouldn't consider exterior GK levels as level designing... it's more of item placement than anything. Interiors, however, I would say is just as much level designing as the next... though I don't think GK interiors are very flexible.

Darlene159 01-14-2009 01:19 AM

I quit making levels because the regular tileset is boring, and I cant make a new one.
Yea, I am not graphics talented at all. :(

Rufus 01-14-2009 01:19 AM

13 people have said that they have made a new level within the last week so far. I wonder why this forum section never sees any of them.

Seich 01-14-2009 07:42 AM

I make levels everyday :P Never posted one on the forums, but I might in the near future :)

lardy227 01-14-2009 08:00 AM

I don't post mine either :o

DustyPorViva 01-14-2009 08:00 AM

I haven't been on my home PC for months, it couldn't have been me.

Because most people that rate them, rather then giving nudges in the right direction, just hang on to their own styles and tell you:
"You did this wrong, do it like this..." blah blah blah.

Its just not fun to post anymore.

Then it seems the problem is that you can't take criticism and opinion. You post to have your level critiqued, we do so and offer suggestions on improving (which would be based on our style of work).

Well yeah, everyone's different.

I might post a few levels soon then =P

xXziroXx 01-14-2009 09:39 PM

I was working on a level for Skyld that he wanted for Rudora iPhone I believe, but thanks to Maloria I didn't get very far on it.

lardy227 01-14-2009 10:37 PM

Ill post levels soon if you peoples really want to see some of them :P

WanDaMan 01-14-2009 10:40 PM

I post some levels if I'm proud of my work.

zim5354 01-15-2009 03:57 AM

maybe 2 years

Rufus 01-17-2009 03:35 PM

Interesting results.

King homer daStupid 01-17-2009 08:14 PM

As we speak!

MysticX2X 01-18-2009 02:04 AM

Haven't created a level in a good 3-4 months.

Frankie 01-18-2009 04:25 AM

last time I've tried to design a classic tileset based level was a long time ago.

I've always been an Era LAT, but once I started getting better at scripting I stopped making levels for Era. last time I actually did levels for Era was over a year and a half ago.

WanDaMan 01-18-2009 03:23 PM

With all the people making levels I believe we should start posting them. I'll fix something up later to post! :)
