Maybe it's made out of sandstone.

Very nice work here !
Very realistic, I like it ^^

The perspective seems very wrong to me. It looks as though it is standing on two legs rather than sitting down and stretching out.

It's all about background effect..

When added to a background say like a sand tileset it needs shading on the sand and also a shadow look to the side it would help alot..

I think the perspective looks wrong because he's missing the whole rear body of it.

Anyways, it looks very mucky. I think it could use more colorful, bright colors. Not to portray happyness, but to best represent the setting of the sphinx -- a desert surrounded by bright yellow sand and a lot of sunlight and hardly any shade.

No one say it has to be day with sunlight could just be night time with a half of moon :-p or a rainny day which would make the Sphinx look in that color tone..

No there is issues with the perspective. The face is looking directly forward, his head is facing forward, and the paws are going straight down. It really messes with your eyes at first glance and it wasn't until someone pointed out to me what it was supposed to be representing (I thought they were supposed to be legs for some kind of Sphinx monster) that it became apparent that it was really wrong. I really doubt that shadows or even a body would fix it because look at the head.

Shame on you guys you all have a problem cause his one has a nose...

Not his fault this guy lost his one years ago

myspacedude 10-15-2008 07:37 PM

Ehh...

Yea, to me it looks more like its standing. Although its not supposed to be... You guys know where is more then one sphix right? There are hundreds of bronze, clay and gold statues of the sphinx. Doest mean I have to base it off the one without a nose :(

myspacedude 10-15-2008 07:41 PM

I could probably change it up a bit to make it look more natural by lengthening the upper leg and shortening hte lower on

Rufus 10-15-2008 08:35 PM

Is this for a Graal server? I noticed when replying that the URL had "Zodiac" in it.

myspacedude 10-16-2008 07:34 PM

Idk?

Maybe, It was on a todo list for gfx and I was the only one that could do it. The other gat kind just skipped around it... IDK it actualy depends on what they feel like doing with it. I canalways change the color and smoothen it out. But there are many many projects atm everyone is off doing their own thing so not too sure if it will ever be used.
