GraalOnline is here to stay right?

Like I'm not gonna find in 5 years its going to be gone...right? O_o

Darlene159 08-16-2008 02:41 PM

I dont think anyone can predict the future.

Cow2001 08-16-2008 02:46 PM

hard to say
there's a chance it'll have nothing to do with graal today tho

Unpredlctable 08-16-2008 02:59 PM

probably nottt

DrakilorP2P 08-16-2008 03:03 PM

No, but all the forum-goers will still be complaining about how Graal is dying five years from now since they don't know when to stop.

excaliber7388 08-16-2008 03:10 PM

I've been playing graal for around 8 years now. It'll be here to stay, although, if it gets more popular, I think we'd see some big changes.

the graal of a few years ago (2001 and real classic) is dead tho, and that's why many of the old complainers are gone

excaliber7388 08-16-2008 04:30 PM

Why stick around if the game lacks what you once loved?

Elizabeth 08-16-2008 05:12 PM

i doubt it.

New people don't know what was "classic"
Everything changes with the times, why would Graal be any different?

Wish Graal would "change" for the better though.

but many old people left just because of these changes, not because they got sick of the game

In the case of that being your own opinion I would quote how you said you loved Graal the other day but the post was deleted.

From what I've heard, Bomy Island is going to be insane.

Elk 08-16-2008 07:17 PM

When crystia comes out a new era will begin! (not the server "Era", for noobs)

it may be good in comparison to other modern servers but not insane, and very different

we could have had a fixed version of the original 2001 by now (instead of having konidias take over and change the essence of the server, quit before finishing the job, then having it taken by this dan guy who didn't do anything and turned it into his private free testing server)

its fate is not so different than classic's

Dan scripted most, if not all, systems on Bomy Island, from what I believe.

Oinkness 08-16-2008 09:02 PM

Are you asking if Graal will still be here after the apocalypse?
It depends on whether it gets "Left Behind"
I would think if it was a good, only its clothes would be left and it would ascend to the heavens. o.o

excaliber7388 08-17-2008 12:29 AM

Want to know something creepy? I just had a dream that Stefan stepped in and returned Classic to it's state as it was quite a few years ago. Al the classic quests, etc.
It was pretty sweet.

Chuck Norris.

The post also said that Graal has a lot of room to improve, and someone should get to it ;)

RosesLove 08-17-2008 01:40 AM

I definitely think it's staying, FOREVER. <3

If not, when I'm fat and wrinkly I'll just have to remake it so I can chase and live out my childhood dreams of being an Unholy Nation ETA. ^^
Wait, who needs an ETA? If I remake it I'll be *Stefan. O_O

farte6 08-17-2008 01:41 AM

IDK, I think graal could stay but theyll have to move away from player based development one of these days considering that no one is doing to well.

That's ridiculous. You really can't even call that "Graal" then.

I think that would make it a completely different game.
It doesn't matter that it's player based, they can do a mix of both.
They just need to not rely on the players to make the servers for them and make some of their own as well. :\

It was actually me, but Konidias/Rufus told me what to script it like, they had good ideas.

To word it slightly different:

They need to stop relying completely on players for content.

I don't think Graal's going to die anytime soon, but it sure is going downhill for a lot of us.

Why is it that people can say this plain as day but when I said it, I got global banned? :(

Because they love me more. :p

TSAdmin 08-17-2008 03:47 AM

Graal, for any player, will never be "the same as it used to be" compared to when that player started. It's really a case-by-case issue. New players who stick around because they find it interesting will probably be starting threads just like this one in a year(or years) to come.

As for "Will it be around?", as Darlene said - No one can predict the future, but I personally do believe that if they wish to have any hope of sticking around, as it is, then a lot of specific issues holding Graal back and digging it deeper into it's hole definitely need to be evaluated and reconstructed better. There are threads everywhere on this forum about what needs to change, so whether you agree with them or not, they're worth a look through *cough* Aimed@theDirectors *cough*

Sorry, they're too busy working on poker and making an iPhone port of Zone better than the real version.

Frankie 08-17-2008 04:16 AM

Graal is unique in many ways and has huge potential. If Unixmad/Stefan would stop wasting time/money on stuff like Graal 3d, the Zone iPhone application, the games server, new website, etc. and instead focused it all on progressing the main game itself, the game would be a lot better.

Rufus 08-17-2008 04:30 AM

How many times are these things going to be said before anything is done? It's the same repetitive argument, like in the Classic forums. Good points are made, excuses and reasons are given, but nothing changes and nothing improves. Wears you down, but I think the developers that there are left on Graal aren't helping much by just discussing it, then going off and doing their own project.

Crono1508 08-17-2008 05:11 AM

Just imagine what a Classic server could be with Stefan as their coder.

Zone.
before anyone attempts a clever smartass post, zone was classic first. stefan took it and rescripted the whole thing, then re-released it as a p2p server

I agree with you. Sorry, but I just don't see how Zone Iphone will raise Graal's playercount :/.
and the graal 3d, wasn't it out before? It didn't work well, people didn't like it.
People want 2D, that's what makes Graal so special too.

They have made some improvements like making it easier to pay.

Based on previous experience, it would be a bunch of generic landscape with tiny houses and an underground tunnel system, and there would be a bunch of NPCs that blow your mind, but no actual quests. or anything.

:noob:

I never said Stefan being Manager or Project Leader.
I mentioned being your Coder, I'm sure he could
script mainly anything you requested.

If I recall, he's the one who improved Zodiac's baddy
movement system... and that took him less than 15
minutes to create, I believe.

His hair turned gray in the process though.

knightfire35 08-18-2008 04:10 PM

Im not sure, anything could really happen within a few years. If they want it to grow, then they do need to fix many issues. As longs as Stefen and other developers keep the game online and being developed, im pretty sure it will be okay. And if you players, keep paying, and supporting it, it will be even better. It won't fully die anytime soon, but like others said it will go downhill.

Just my opinion.

I play graal because I like 2d gaming.

I go elsewhere for 3d games >_>
