Zone 3D!
 

omg like omg wouldn't it be kick ass with zone 3d? with planets like on mario galaxy (well maybe way bigger xD) and small space ships and aiming! no random shooting at 8 dirs!

and when you first make your char you choose what team you want to belong to and then you always fight for that team, can have their own main base where you can buy stuffs then the two teams (easier to balance just 2 teams I guess) war for ground and stuff! can maybe create cool vehicles like space ships, those robot thingys and tanks that can be used in super epic battles.

maybe have some other things beside the team waring like classic rpg dungeons but you shoot your way tho rather then using sword and magic, could be some cool alien/bug-ish things as monsters I guess.

3D would change how you play Zone. It wouldn't work.

Agreed. If they cant finish Graal 3D, i doubt they can finish/do this..

no... zone would be so awesome in 3d. was thinking like a third person view and like awesome off road cars (like the one in the torque demo thingy, they are very fun to drive) how can you not see the greatness and the funess? :p

well I just assumed that as you said lag as soon as I said 3d.

Maybe if they did 2d images to look 3d and a small amount of the flying technology for ramps and things. Helicopter would be nice, but once again, give the higher levels an edge over everyone else. Unless you mounted mini chain guns to them?

Unless of course, an independent team were found to do it. Even then, it takes years upon years to make a 3D mmorpg.

Don't think I'm trying to put your idea down Galdor. It is a very cool idea. But if it's to succeed, it needs lots of work.

well we wont have to make a new engine and stuff just change the graphics and add some guns ect ^^

Maybe when the 3D server gets some more options (scriptwise) we can try to make one 3D planet or so. It can perhaps be put next to the other 2D planets. We cannot know what it'd look like without trying ;)

3D doesn't really need any more options, it just need more models, textures and graphics which there is all of about 3 people on Graal that make such.

And Dan, I don't think it would work to place the 3D world next the the 2D with the way the 3D gservers are set up. 2D and 3D can't run together.

You just told us an option we need :P

Sorry, I meant scripting options :P.

I'm sure Stefan could set something up to link the two servers, even if it's a manual setup (where both servers read from one file, etc).

I don't think anyone would buy a 1000$ computer (or whatever they cost) just to play a graal game without lag. I'm just saying.

Then buy it to play the other good games one can get.

The day Graal switches over to 3D is the day I quit XP.

why would they delete graal 2d just because they add 3d as an option for players and developers? :P

They of course won't, as 3D development would generally be more complicated (scripting, character modeling, terrain, etc)

3D is funny but not zone

2 years ago if i good remember there whas a 3D world to but it lagged like hell.

I personally prefer old school Zone over 3d anyday. Although, right now, I barely recongize Zone at all, so feel free to kill it even more ^-^

3d is too buggy and laggy to ever succeed.

Graal 3d is not that lagy now, there was some bug that made it lag before but me and steffy solved that.

Seeing as you were part of the 3D Team you might know. However I think it is pretty rude to say that 3D can never succeed when you just gave up on it. I bet there are people who are still working on it. I think it is kind of a slap in the face that you quit and are now trash talking it when they are devoting a large amount of their time and energy to the development of the project that you gave up on.

2D an graal-style FTW.

Graal has a pretty small community compared to other games, but right now I spent 6 years on it and it's still making me stay.
Games like graal should never dissepear, I just love this.
