Army Helmets

1 Attachment(s)
Here's some camo colored helmets as you would see in real life wars. I might do matching body, arms, and legs depending on whether you like these gfx's or not. Tell me what you think :D

Xterminator 02-27-2008 03:06 AM

Maybe a bit more darker?

SolidSnake989 02-27-2008 05:00 AM

Have you ever seen a type of (jungle?) camo that bright?

PaperMario 02-27-2008 05:04 AM

Nice. :O.

cbk1994 02-27-2008 05:16 AM

Reminds me of Luigi's mushroom hat ...

Here's a darker green-yellow color. That better?

MrAnonymous_P2P 02-27-2008 06:06 AM

Still to bright.

darksage15 02-27-2008 06:30 AM

It's STILL bright?! I'll try to make it a dark brown, then...

Here's the brown one, I added some straps on the side, too. Is it dark enough? (Sorry for double post)

monolord 02-27-2008 12:11 PM

the brown part is good but camo has more then just green patches

Whatever the word opposite of camouflage is, that's how I would describe this. Yes, hmmm...

Liberated 02-27-2008 03:16 PM

i think the idea is good, imo the shading is also good, but indeed it need ssome work on green parts

I shaded them darker, if you're saying they're too bright. Plus, if some miracle happens and they are added, they won't really be used as camo! It's just suppose to be an army helmet, no necessarily jungle camo.

as you can see:
http://www.american-armynavy.com/sho...t-KidsCamo.jpghttp://www.fatiguesarmynavy.com/images/items/fa3640.gif
a helmet is either or all green with different green(and a little bit of brown)
or:

alot of brown, with a bit of green, i also think you should remove the black lines that are arround the patches.

What he should do is look at the helmets that are already on Zone and work off of those to make them fit in.

More colors does not always equal better, especially with you using black outlines and outrageous camouflage colors. You only need 4 colors for camo, sometimes you can use more, but usually it won't turn out any better.

Here's a quick edit I did on the front side of the helmet, hopefully this will give you a better idea of what to do.

Oh, the front one looks good like that. I'll try to make the rest like that, thanks.

Much much better, but you should remove the darkening effect. I think it'd look better without it.

Camouflage should be very simplistic, and it's just an unneeded add-on.

Cool, I'll make matching body, legs and arms if you guys want me to.

Liberated 02-29-2008 02:37 PM

i'd suggest you first make all the views of the head so that can be added, look at a zone head file so you can see what all the views are.

But what other views are there, didn't I get them all? It's just the helmet, not a head. Also, where can I find a zone head file? :P

c:/programfiles/graal/levels/images/zone
and then look arround, but to make it easier:
there are some versions, for if you're pulling something, and your head is tilted slightley backwards, but mose of the time you can just use the side view and rotate it.

Seeya 03-02-2008 04:53 PM

I'd have to say- if i was hiding, i'd just think to rather not have that helmet on.

It really sticks out, rather than hides you. Keep all the colors near the same.

Liberated 03-02-2008 05:00 PM

trust me, if you're hiding under a tree in deathmatch, i think you will be less fast noticed if your head stucks out a bit then with a red head without helmet.

xAzerothx 03-02-2008 06:57 PM

I just want to wear it and play ARMY MEN.

James 03-07-2008 12:12 AM

How about that body darksage? I'd love to see it. I'd be willing to help you with it as well; I made most of the bodies for Graal2001 back in the day.

Can I be in-charge of the mess hall? <3

________

Also very nice indeed, would love to see matching body, arms, and legs. (Also if it wouldn't be too much trouble could you also make two skin variations to make it possible for tan and dark skinned people to wear them without turning into Michael Jackson?

Two Skin colors, ex of hands.

xAzerothx 03-07-2008 04:38 PM

Is this suppose to be hair or a head?

Liberated 03-07-2008 06:06 PM

a hair, i guess, otherwise you'd have this as head and then some hair over it.

Hey guys, it's darksage15. I'm having trouble logging onto forums with darksage15, I'll have to fix it. Anyways, I've tried and tried making the bodies, but I can't do it, it turns out looking really dumb.. I would appreciate some help James, thanks. Could you make an idea of what it should look like?

graal2001 FTW, i used to play that, can't believe its 7 years ago... so much has changed, i remember the time, when trials had full hp could join guilds and had, ****ing full screen! I think it has gotten more lame now we have to pay for everything, i want the old graal back!

now on topic so this wont be classified as spam or something:
I think i might be able to help out with bodies to if you want me to,

yes thats it:)

I don't actually play Graal anymore, so if you could post a simplistic Zone body I could make a rough draft for you and help guide you through the process.
