Kingdom icons for non-peaceful mode

It's now automatically setting the icon of the kingdom over your head if you are not in peaceful mode. Use the bell at the castle of your kingdom to switch to non-peaceful mode. You will get more experience when killing monsters, but you can also be killed by other players.
Some people have requested to see the kingdom icon to easier identify members of your own kingdom or allied kingdoms.

Ravenblade1979 10-01-2007 03:49 PM

Excellent

sango_ku 10-01-2007 06:33 PM

Cool :)

Actually the icons exist for years. They were enabled in the beginning and activated when the kingdom leader hit the kingdom bell and started a war. Mainly to identify the own members during the war.
For some time the icons were disabled but got re-enabled quite some time ago but the leader still had to make a declaration of war at the kingdom bell to make them visible.

The only reason I don't like this is I can't hang out in bmode anymore or someone will notice

MasterNuke 10-01-2007 11:45 PM

I don't like it. There's no way I can ambush or take cover behind objects effectively now.

CABAL49 10-02-2007 01:51 AM

The extra exp will encourage more people to go into bmode. But it would be nice if you didn't have to worry about people with three times your level attacking you.

kia345 10-02-2007 02:19 AM

How much extra exp. will it give? I want to know if it's worth the countless times Nox will kill me.

Admins 10-02-2007 11:39 AM

Well it was always giving more exp, around 33%.
On the debug server we also have a new party mode, I hope debug staff can help testing it.

I agree with you.

Switch 10-02-2007 04:30 PM

gj stefanio :o

MajinDragon 10-02-2007 10:56 PM

I like it, but i need to actually go on gk first to test it.

Ravenblade1979 10-02-2007 11:38 PM

If your in bmode it shows your guild icon above your head..not hard to spot anyone in that case

MajinDragon 10-03-2007 10:43 PM

Hmm, i don't like it, just because it doesn't need to be there o.o i was happy just saying /who and looking up people in bmode and the level they were in then just killing them.

Admins 10-03-2007 10:58 PM

Hmmm should it be made optionally somehow?

Ravenblade1979 10-03-2007 11:10 PM

no keep it on. was requested for a reson. Not everyone wants to always type in /who to find out who is in bmode

It is more fun to hide behind a house without being marked. And I think its also much better not to have an icon above me all the time.

Not everyone wants to be lamed within 20 seconds of walking outside. How are things like ambushes possible if you can see every possible attacker?

Do you even go in bmode?

Ravenblade1979 10-03-2007 11:53 PM

why would I go in bmode. I'm a events master and people have a tendancy to lame people. So I would probably end up losing items I shouldn't be

My brother is in bmode and he's never lost anything in this event sack because he has the platinum coins to cover his death. But i do know what you mean i lost my Sigil of Thunder once just because i didin't have the platinum to cover my death.

grawlgamer 10-04-2007 01:36 AM

Platinum to cover your death?

if you have enough platinum then when you die you don't lose your items I believe.

If you're never on bmode, then why do you demand that bmoders must suffer nerfs?

Then your opinion on this is null

/who was an inconvenience while not in combat. The icon over my head is an inconvenience while IN combat. I still do /who to hunt bmoders anyway.

Admins 10-04-2007 03:21 PM

Hmmm probably the most fair solution would be that you can enable and disable the display of the icon, and only if you have it enabled and see someone else who has disabled it then his/her icon is showing (as long as you are close). So the icon would only be forced to show when the other player is showing the icon as well. Might be a little bit complex though.

Sounds very good and decent for all. ^^

Ravenblade1979 10-04-2007 04:33 PM

w/e whine for your right to lame people again because thats why Ed and Leon don't agree with this. They want to be able to lame people. Am sure Cubes would be right on the bandwagon with them protesting too just so he can lame. Can't fight fairly so you have to lame.

Battle mode= You should be prepared to get attacked. If you don't want to deal with the risk switch to the peacefull mode. I don't see why those "lamers" should get taken away their fun.

Not everybody in battle mode lames i'm in battle mode and i never lame, people lame me all the time but i don't care because i made the choice to go in battle mode so i have to live with it. Just because people lame in battle mode it doesnt mean we all do.

sage_scooby 10-04-2007 05:29 PM

I don't like it simply because it makes you a target. It isn't hard to find out who's in b-mode by using who, or simply taking a slice at them.

Ravenblade1979 10-04-2007 07:26 PM

Go ahead and get it taken away. From what I read while you have it on you gain about 33 percent extra exp. I must tell the truth that it really got my attention. I am thinking of now going bmode just for that purpose. I know I would be a target but hey the extra 33 percent exp is worth it.

I think now though I will wait to see what Stefan does.

Admins 10-04-2007 10:04 PM

Hmmm simpliest way right now would be to hide the icon again I guess, but may be display it if you are on a kingdom island?

kia345 10-04-2007 10:42 PM

That wouldn't be too bad, it's not like people really leave Bomb Trade.

Switch 10-05-2007 02:24 AM

Make it so that in bmode if u die BY A PLAYER (monsters will have the same effect as peaceful) you don't lose your items. I have no place to stash my stuff and I don't feel like using my hours on something that takes so long and eventually rots away and then my stuff is destroyed.

Being in b-mode has always increased the amount of exp. you get. The icon has nothing to do with it.

I like the make the icon optional idea and/or the show the icon on kingdom isle icon.

One idea could be to make it visible to kingdoms that are hostile with each other.

Ravenblade1979 10-05-2007 05:19 AM

Ah well back to laming and i definatly won't be on bmode now.

MajinDragon 10-07-2007 12:41 AM

Glad to see it will be made optional, and i like that idea of allowing kingdoms marked as 'Enemies' to see eachothers bmode icons.

KyleNicholson 10-11-2007 07:16 AM

I would like the b-mode to show in your profile instead of a little icon since while they're distracted by my profile BAM ;)
