New Trial System
Hello, I would like to devote this thread to the trials and how we need them. Graal is a fabulous game, as much as people say it sucks, many people play for being an unknown MMORPG. However, once V5 was release, did it destroy Zone and possibly Unholy Nation? I think without trials, the community as a whole, just will not be nearly as large, or active for that matter.
The meaning of a trial is basically in this case, a Graal player who gets a limited time to play on any server, excluding player worlds. But that doesn't mean we should limit what they can do. A trial shouldn't only have a few hours or so to play before they go into observer mode. A trial should be exactly like a p2p except for they only last a month, once your time is up, that's it, and you need to either upgrade or stop playing. Now most of you are saying that people would just make new accounts, but this is not true. Most games or programs can devise it so that the computer as a whole component can only run that program under one file, thus making it so even if you create a new account, the time is still up until you buy a subscription. Stefan and Unix have made it clear that they want Zone to be a better server. They have certainly changed it, but they overlooked one aspect. They forgot the most important ingredient to the concoction, the players! We are not trying to server bash but are merely looking for a solution to this newest predicament. WE WILL NOT TOLERATE SERVER BASHING IN THIS THREAD |
I agree, Trials are the pinnacle of Graal if you will. You cant totally make them have nothing, no body can get a full feel for the game in that sense, you need trials to have time to get acclamated to the game, or else a new player will be rare.

Graal became dependent on trials supplying activity and playercount, I'm glad they're now limited.
But half screen and observer mode are a little much though, just make it like banning so they can't get on anymore for a month. |

More independant packages need to be made. Like an Era package/Un pacakge/Zodiac package...etc |
What they need to do to bring in more trials is to advertise Graal publicly
|
I think it was the right thing limiting the trials. They could prance around servers thinking they will never have to pay for this game like alot of us did. Sure they made alot of the playercount but that was because theyre taking advantage of the fact they dont have to pay at all.

You act like they weren't already restricted. What people forget is that instead of *****ing about the number of trials and instead of forcing trials to upgrade, they should give them a REASON to update. Many of us upgraded or have been upgraded because we were still around during the good times of Graal. I'm sorry but Graal has sucked since about 2004 when there was nothing new. Sure, Zodiac came around last summer but Zodiac isn't exactly what i'd call hot. Zone came around but died quite quickly, then was revived as a Gold server which is now dead because trials kept it alive. |

Well done! The point being is that without trials, Zone has less players than some servers have staff. |
You said trials should be exactly like p2p's but only last a month? Then that would kill alot of the paying for graal wouldn't it? Sure i miss trials, but i think they should come back and be the way they were before. People would take it a basic challenge to see how far they could get in a month, and then just make another account and try again.

Originally, I'm not sure what v5 trial is, that was the initial plan. Pretty much P2P for a month, then you were blocked by your 'computer ID' or something like that. |
A month is alot. Lets say a week or two, that should be enough.

I found Trial players annoying.
They'd non-stop hassle me for money when yet it was only going to get resetted on their account sooner or later and begging P2Pers for money isn't really "trialing" the game is it? |

And dont forget zenkous release sometime in the next few months (hopefully if we get a few more fellow staff). |

Here's my opinion:
Back in the days (1998~2002), Graal was a REALLY great game. But later on, much better games came out. Now, most of the gamers play WoW, guildwars and many other online games. Graal is still a pretty unique game but, sorry to tell you this but there are much better games out there than graal (insane graphics, sounds, etc..) . Graal isn't worth to pay for. LOTS of people wouldn't give out 48$ to get a 1 year subscription for a game like Graalonline. Recently, I noticed how the graal population went down. 38 people on UN at 4PM?? What the hell? 2-3 years back, there were almost 200 people online at this time. Graal is DYING. Honestly, I think ALL graal servers should be FREE. You guys charge for everything!!! I bet if you make graal free for just one month, the population would grow a lot. Just send out e-mails to all the accounts that graal has become FREE and watch everyone come back online (even the oldbies). Graal should be exactly like MapleStory, Gunbound or Gunz where you only need to pay if you want EXTRAs. |
Yeah, make trials free. It's the only way.
Come on guys, we just cant watch Graal dying. UN have lost more than 50% of their players this year. I don't think it has anything to do with UN, it's Graal whos dying. |
Maybe you guys should try making the difference of advantages from Gold with Trials bigger....so that can encourage trails to upgrade in another way =P
though dont make it too big cuz then trials will have no idea of what expects them if they upgrade ;) |
...... You still can't type trial instead of trail?
|
Just give the trials 1 month free lol

Is simple put back Graal account Free Classics/VIP users get a benefit of playing Graal/Zone on weekends only say Friday/Saturday... Now whomever wishes to Play Even more Has to Upgrade honestly more people has upgraded to Gold when the population was huge i bet they seen a rate drop.. As for Playersworld renting keep it the same but allow classics to be able to work on servers also.. I mean it's a very sad thing to see Graal Die so quickly i played many other games and still return to graal... Enough is Enough give the player what they need.. I mean after all it's the players who been helping Graal to become known to the net... I mean look at classic it's still the same as before and YET the playercount dropped so bad it's the last server on the list these days now.. |
I'm actually getting pretty sick of new users being shoved out of the picture most of the time. You can't do crap as a trial on Kingdoms, and I'm sure it's just as bad as some other servers. Fewer limitations on Trial accounts is something I'd like to see in the future, mainly just for the sake of building a better playercount.
|
Finaly someone that understands me..
Now I hope Stefan and Unixmad will understand that if they continue this way, Graal will have no future. |
I do recall Graal Online having a very high player count. The servers were very fun and addicting especially Maloria, and Valikorlia back in the days. Anyways, I remember myself being a Trial that would ask almost anyone for items or help on what to do. The players who actually were nice to help were keeping me from quitting. I also remember hiding items behind buildings on Graal Kingdoms when I leave. Those were the fun days. Nowadays trials are very limited, and some servers has lost it's lust. Some were taken down as well.
All I'm saying is, if the Trial System would change into something better than it is now or, atleast come back to what it use to be. Than more players will be flocking in, and you never know.. Some will take a huge liking to this game, and maybe even turn into good developers for servers. Which in exchange would keep the servers from dying off. |
It would be interesting to see what would happen if Graal disabled p2p for a small period of time.
|
back in 2001-2002 i believe (yh graal 2001) i was a trial. And player count on zone could reach 80+ those were fun days, less base camping on iricia. MASSIVE battles for b1, with like 20 players on each site on b1 at a time. Altough it was a bit laggy, that was what me made play graal, now i don't think it's fun anymore. SO YES TRIALS SHOULD GO BACK THE WAY THEY WERE.
|
I would see a large playercount wave heading in if that were the case. Though I doubt the players will be staying on for a while. We need more quality servers. Like in the old days.

I also support the 1 months unlimited features trial idea. It's how most games do it, and it works. |
Why can't graal be the way it used to be??? Trials can play for how ever long they want but they can't save or spar that was the best way.

I remember back in 2002 they had the ghost mode. At every logon, you waited a certain amount of time, then you were able to play as long as you want until you decided to disconnect. Oh and of course, your stats saved.
If you compare to other games, Graal has the worst trial system. |
Lol if that picture was today i was one of the six
|
Why's UN's playercount so low? 6 players while Zodiac has 70? What the hell is going on?!
