Amazing Idea!

If anyone wants to be classic and has a server they lost interest in, contact me. I might have an idea that could be complete in 1 month.

Would bring alot of attraction also.
But they are a specific type.

PM Me, Cheers.

A server done in one month? I find that really funny, no offense. I just think you're underestimating the effort that goes into making a server.

No I am not, I have put every aspect of its creation under consideration and calculated the minimum time frame. The content of my server is very limited. The only hint I will give you all is that I need a lag free enviroment. Avergely, the server should have around 5 running NPC's and some levels.

killerogue 06-05-2007 05:50 AM

This, I HAVE to see. Someone please give Djinn a server. >_>

Pimmeh 06-05-2007 08:34 AM

Why not tell us how?

Geroge Bush would have to set up underground missles in Europe if he told us.
Anyways It would be cool to actually have a server completed in a month.

I second this.

Math won't help you, really, unless you're super quick in scripting, debugging, Ganing, GFXing, and level making, which no one I know can do EVERYTHING SUPER QUICK, and that's a lot (maybe not forumers, though ;)) :o

Novo 06-06-2007 03:03 AM

=D It'll take a month... And the server will be a tetris game.

Zideruic 06-06-2007 03:41 AM

Contrary to popular belief, server steroids do not shrink the users reproductive organs.

You don't have to be super quick to rescript a server in a month. I'd give an example but the person doesn't like attention I suppose.

Sounds nice

Foreigner 06-06-2007 09:43 PM

Its not a tetris server haha. Its simply something so simple that NO ONE though about.

I already have scripters lined up and ready for the work. I have the whole alpha stage planned (2 Weeks) then Beta (2 weeks) Then the release.

The playerworld will be limited to staff only and some beta testers chosen by myself.

I have a full document that explains every step needed in the creation, I just need a freaking server and having bought 2 before, I do not wish to put my funds into it.

I know the server could be done in 1 month, I'm just not sure if people would leave their home servers to come.

I have said too much, if anyone is interested simply PM me.

Can you just tell us what it is if it is such a good idea? That might make someone willing to give you a server to use.

Or since the idea is so simple and easy, someone MIGHT just recreate my idea.

No? Yes.

:)

CMON!

gravator 06-07-2007 11:15 AM

And that's the attitude that ruins graal, nobody likes to share ideas, because people think the idea is so grand and revolutionary that it would cause them to go emo and kill themselves if even the smallest detail was leaked (see also lance, bomy moon project) and that just cannot be allowed.

I don't think anyone can make a new server anymore, because you ask for help, but there IS no help, since everyone has an idea that they don't want to share and turn to making their own server so they can control how that idea is built, then they look for help on it but there IS no help, and it's just a big circle of idiocy.

I would very much like to bash you, as well as many other members here, but it's against the rules, so i will just drink my soda and shut up.

Spark910 06-07-2007 11:42 AM

If you know it will be ready in a month, buy a 6 month server for $59 or whatever the price is... as in 30days you'll never have to pay again if its as good as you think and you can get on classic.

or you could just let it be known so then someone might be willing to give you a server to use?

TalonShriner 06-07-2007 09:28 PM

...So your not gonna tell anyone the idea, but you expect someone to pay like $60-$100 for this "top secret" server that we may or may not like? Maybe you should rethink your logic a bit there... as in getting a job to pay for it yourself. :)

If I get to classic, the server is paid forever? Under my control?

Pimmeh 06-08-2007 09:36 AM

The Ownership is passed on to Graalonline but I think you are the manager

kia345 06-25-2007 03:51 AM

*bump*

Where'd this go?

coreys 06-25-2007 05:28 AM

It died, why did you revive it? You aren't the Jesus of the forums.

Inverness 06-25-2007 12:33 PM

I hate people who underestimate the time and quality required to create a game (that is the word I prefer), people like that are the reason server's fail. For example, if anyone believes its a good idea to make the entire overworld at once then just gtfo because you fail at developing.

I bumped it because I wanted to see if this guy ever went through with his idea

DustyPorViva 06-25-2007 04:18 PM

If it did I'm sure he would have posted updates or such, or have a server UC.

Codein 06-25-2007 06:00 PM

I'd have really liked to know the idea of this project xD

Tracker180 06-25-2007 06:13 PM

me too >.> and I'd also want to know if sumone actually gave him the server

Inverness 06-26-2007 02:04 AM

I don't know why people think they can be a one-man development team and get a quality playerworld created within a year. There are far too many staff in Graal who have really no idea how to create a game.

My process has always been to start with a small-scale extensible working model, full featured etc., to display the idea behind the playerworld and what the current staff is capable of, this brings in people who would be interested in working.

Its like the demo of a game, show only bits and pieces of the different aspects of the game to get a person interested in the full product.

ToNy_W 06-26-2007 03:58 AM

Well, you waited till you had something to show before turning onlystaff to false :P! It attracted developpers, didn't it?

ArushenP2P 06-26-2007 04:32 AM

Not unless you've been working most of the stuff offline and than working on the stuff that can only be done online in 1 month. That is possible but though I wouldn't think anyone would make a project offline than finish it online. Usually most people just think of the idea and once they have a server they start from scratch.
