Whats up Graal gold?
Whats up is exactly the question..I have not seen an update since easter. Now we all know graal staff are slow and the majority of the work is done by players but you staff could at least make some sort of website page telling you what you are currently working on and how far along you are. it will keep us interested so at least we know you are doing something and we can check back at the estimated completion date.
you can ban me for your anti graalism again because frankly i dont care about the rules and regulations if the staff do not keep their end of the bargain by providing a good weekly updates game like the advert said. Look at Pirate kingdoms online..updates every single week and they are about to release an expansion less than a month after previous one.and how? Because they have a big and reliable staff team instead of a bunch of kids that barely know scripting or can barely be arsed to type a script. We players as a whole deserve better and if you do not do something, later down the line everyone will quit and move onto a better more reliable game. Afterall what exactly are you offering? Good graphics? hardly.. Good gameplay? Maybe but will eventually become tedius. Afterall staff most of you for example dont 'play the game' so how the hell do you know what graal is like and what improvements it needs unless you try it out for yourself and try and get a bit of fun out of it? Anyways thats my opinion on this game. Well i'm outa here guys have fun lmao |
Currently they are in the middle of getting updates done. I would like to see a site that will tell people and how much is left to be done. Sam plays. No idea on Bjorn.
|
Not many people know Graal Script two for there to be enough updates on Graal Kingdoms.

Why don't you make a list of what you'd like then pass it on to Bjorn... o-o

But that exactly it is, I don't know. Actually we wanted to release clothing and I made the ganis for that. Unfortunally I had problems with my secound hdd last week and most of the data on it is lost. It will take some time to redo the ganis but if they are done we can release wearing amulets. |

Well, atleast they (MIGHT, probably won't even go through with it for how I know of how they make updates x.x) are making 3dDugeons :)

The problem with staff is that there are too few of them. Personally I think that a scrpt team should be developed for the sole purpose of teaching people graal script and development of graal projects.
|
The system was not designed properly... well, it probably could of got by, but it should have been more thoroughly tested and more complete before the initial release in 2002.

We already have that. http://skyld.vip.graal.net/ another resource. We already have scripters who work to make it easier for people to learn. |

They need to get organized, or atleast sit on the computer a few hours every day (except for sundays) make new things for GK..

I find that I had to post here, as quite a few of you players who don't do any sort of developement take the time to make it sound easy. Well, newsflash dammit, it aint.
This myth-symbia dude, guy let me ask you...have you ever scripted a thing in your life stemming past PHP Code:
Me being a part of the "younger" generation, I found that kid comment quite insulting, and I don't think I'm a half bad scripter. :) E: Love ranting. Really you don't even have an argument or ground to stand on here. Just a bunch of unfounded accusations based on you crying about things not getting done due to the small staff team-which granted is there fault-and yet have no spoken up to attempt to help in anyway, or even attempted to learn anything to do anything about it. You just sit and complain like an oversized baby with terrible grammar. In short, cut the damn tears and find some facts and logical sense for your arguments before you just start sputtering like a babbling, incoherent human being. |
Alot of people don't play to make the game Stan... The ability to make your own server should be a bonus to what's offered by the cyberjouers staff: i.e. their promised amounts of updates within a scheduled time.
|
I actually still play this game because I dream of finally getting my own PW up...
I think there are lots of people that would like to work on servers but that they are not learned the howto. I think im gonna install a little island for new staff members to practise on... |
*****...did someone just say they should work on the 3d dungeons??
How the hell can they even work on a complex 3D game if they cannot be arsed to do anything with their current 2D games? I am not thinking staff are lazy anymore..i am beginning to think they are incapable of handling a game. I mean the speed of their updates goes beyond lazyness. Oh in anyways killerrogue. So scripting may be hard yes? Fair enough it probably is hard but if they cannot do it properly or even do it fast enough they should not charge people to play on their servers. Its like buying a go-kart and finding out the rental karts beat yours on speed and handling..you are like "well wtf did i buy this for?".Anyways if you played Gk or zone then you would know what the staff are like. so go there and play then comment on this thread. Players should not need to script or do any sort of development on a game they are paying for. What type of backward crack community did you come from? |

And if you want a position on debug to work for a kingdom, like you just mentioned you would help a kingdom, you have to ask the kingdom leader and not the staffs. Because the leaders of the kingdoms actually plan or should plan what's going on on their island. This means they pick who is working on the kingdom islands. Quote:

Bjorn, I have no idea how you managed to watch GK die over the years and not do a thing.
|
I think there needs to be staff hired or something.
I have seen nothing in the past year, which would make me upgrade my account again. No news, no updates, no changes. So what should I pay my money for? |
Well Kingdoms did have Zero and Novo: the two greatest none-cyberjouers developers for a time.

Question though... He may be manager, but is he in charge of development still? I assume he's manager/owner just because Kingdom's is still a gold server and he's not going to hand it over until it's done. Even though he doesn't hand it over, I don't think he's actually much into developing for it anyone, and that'd make the next person down the head of getting stuff done?
|
OK you know what I am sick of this. Bjorn in plain english.
1) Being able to see bracelets or w/e won't bring the people back. 2) We need new monsters and quests 3) The kingdom leaders should be a bit more active and have people do some dev work while they are gone (CP excluded because I know what they do on their island) 4) We need to come up with a new way to keep people around (new items, new monsters, new quests, new island etc). I have been around long enough now to know that a small update here and there won't do it. There are people willing to help..not just the kingdoms but the server Bjorn. I hear that a lot of ideas are turned down. That just isn't right. Get more people to help dev for GK itself..not for the kingdom islands..they are fine. If the leaders want help they will ask their own members. |

People always complained that they can't do anything because they don't have basic levels or npcs for the level design. We added some development pack everyone can download from the serverlist on GK. But even after that people don't do it. Althought if that was the real reason, I don't understand why oneone of the people who did the glorious speeches didn't do something. Can you explain this to me? If you want I think I can talk to Stefan and Unixmad or Darlene we might be able to get a development board for GK where people can submit these finished things and other ones can rate them. Or we can also put up to date npcs and stuff there people can use. |

Althought there is no questionmark in your three posts.. |
Yes make a gk developers forum. And I have seen a lot of ideas that were supported shot down by you Bjorn.

I just said strictly no on quite a few things, but also other people did... |

But it should mean something that they don't tell me what they plan for GK then. I'm not interested in the complete Graal thin they want to change just GK. But I don't even know that. Just that it's gonna be a big difference. |
This is the most i've seen from a GK Staff member corresponding to players requests. Players keep this game going. I really wish there were more global staff members that listened, instead of being so arrogant at times. I've presented advertising plans to Stefan many times, also the idea of proposing more/newer global administrators. He heard out my advertising plans but nothing of the more global ideas. Corresponding with the "New GK" post. I beleive GK needs a better array of weapons. When a playerworld release a new item or weapon, players such as myself work and go crazy to get it. But then something happens to it. I feel if GK added a new island, a way to make platinum, and a few new weapons, also with the Amulet showing you were working on Bjorn. It would attract a few new players and bring back some old ones. Argh, henceforth the advertising! Graal needs advertisement. It must be done. I know Stefan uses the money made from Graal for a side job, something to do when he gets home from work. More players=more fun. More fun+players= more money? Come on.
|
Bjorn yes I do agree that you people offer the development stuff but if you have a GK map and you mod it and save it you can't go back to even fix it if you close it down..its a pain in the butt.
I have had a few ideas for quests. Oh and I think that carnival idea once a month for a week would have worked. |
