Spelling!

I had an idea for the forums! Maybe they can try not to look stupid and fix typos in the rules section where the forum administrators spell responsibility with an a responsablity.... They may want to add a spell checker for some of the basic stuff also if that is possible :D

Gambet 03-15-2007 03:58 AM

Their native tongue is not English, it's completely understandable. Is it very professional? Not exactly, but at least they try.

I don't fix peoples spelling errors in their posts unless the poster asks me to.
I will be sure to fix the typo. Sorry that it has caused you so much grief.
I will also open the rules on my computer, and check for errors, so that you wont lose any sleep.

Well, worry no more. It has been fixed, as well as spelling errors within the rules.
Sleep well.

Install Aspell. Spell checking should be done by the poster, not the server.

mispelling one word in a post, or even 2 or 3 in a very long thread, such as the rules is barbaric?

yes it is. I as an american would not play a game if I found possibly 2 or more grammar or spelling errors on a rules thread or such.... I would think many things like man the people who created this game must be really stupid. I get upset when it is an administrator making the error. I understand we all slip up but in the rules section of anything I would be quiet disraught if I saw a typo. I really do think it is barbaric though because it shows what may be previewed in the game may also be done with slacking effort in which case I would not play. I don't care if another user does it but when it is an administrator whole new ball game....

I guess the key thing is that I expect professionalism.

Even professionals make mistakes. I mispelled one word in a thread, and you went crazy, forum PM'ed me being nasty about it, then made a thread when I didn't act quickly enough for you to fix one typo. Calm down, seriously.
There were very few mispelled words in the rules, and they may have been there for a long time. At any rate, realize that we are people, not robots.

I'm rarely in game for more than 5 minutes at a time, and I don't always answer PM's. I am usually looking for specific people when I am on the game, and I only got 1 forum PM from you.
Is 3 days a terribly long time to fix one spelling error? Come on, don't you think that you are blowing this out of proportion?
And on a second note, yea....you were rude in the PM.

Posting it would be against the rules, but yea....I would say that saying my mispelling one word makes myself, and the administration look stupid, is quite rude, but that's just me.
BTW, your PM on the 11th is the only time you told me of it, but it really doesn't matter, it is fixed. Please stop making a big deal about it.

Fixed....so, closed.
