Kingdom specific items

This could easily bring interest in certain kingdoms. You don't really need it, but it would make differences in GK. Some players don't like one kingdom, but have one or two kingdom they prefere to be in or be around.

Specialized kingdom equipment with some minor variences could be designed without many problems.

zell12 03-07-2007 01:25 AM

Already have "kingdom equipment" don't we?

If your a stuck up rich prick... then yes you might have been fortunate to acquire some.

I mean CRAFTABLE to ONLY that kingdom, and useable by only that kingdom.

I was only fortunate enough to get a forest shield because someone in Loxeus liked me alot and gave it as a gift. Otherwise I'd still never have touched one.

Googi 03-07-2007 01:50 AM

This was planned but so far it seems to not have been implemented.

ReBorn_Spirit 03-07-2007 03:24 AM

Indeed, we should just develop the graphics and then get them working properly and simply submit them to staff and have them all tested on debug or something. Do it ourselves kind of thing really.

That seems to work decently when done right...

Ravenblade1979 03-07-2007 09:12 PM

Umm why don't they just make them so you can't drop them...that way if you get it while your in that kingdom you can't sell it. I see too much trading and stuff. Might as well have a centralized kingdom on main and get it over with.

Quite the assumption.

I agree, the competition that was held a while back certainly gives kingdom's a start. Dustari had almost a full set, and Draxx has had one for Forest for a while now.

hampy 03-07-2007 09:56 PM

Good luck getting this added...

MasterNuke 03-07-2007 10:18 PM

If you've seen the VIP masks... then you already know that they can restrict items to certain tags.

cyan3 03-07-2007 10:37 PM

How about make it so they can be traded to anyone and dropped and if you leave the kigndom you still have them. But you can only use them again if you go back to that kingdom. I know of some people who leave there kigndom to help out on another one but come back to the old kingdom in time. It will be stupid for them to lose the items.

You could profit then by entering a kingdom, crafting the items, leaving, and then trading them to someone who can use them.

No make it so that you can only use the item if you are in that kingdom so if you trade it or drop it who ever gets it will still have to be in that kingdom to use it.

I also think that they should be used even if you don't have your kingdom tag on but are still in that kingdom.

So you can still trade it to someone who is currently in the kingdom for a profit.

This would depend on how difficult they are to craft. I'm assuming they won't be insanely hard to craft (ex. Gale Armor) so I see no reason to have this.

Easy, make them non-tradeable items. Like the current god items that dissapear when you drop them. "the kingdom that lent you this item retrieves it".

I assumed that was the original consensus, I was trying to tell Felix why.

Also, thinking about this more I find a problem. You basically have to pick if you want the items to be melee, magic, or wisdom specific so they are still used and are not overpowered.

Switch 03-07-2007 10:52 PM

Yea, needs DEFINITELY more items. That's why I'm talking to Bjorn about a job. Would do wonders for the server. There DEFINITELY needs to be more than weps that are "event only" or "holiday only" that are STILL GOOD weapons...

I see what you mean.

Drakeero 03-18-2007 07:06 PM

I've talked over this with Bjorn with length when I wanted to add Zormite only merit badges.

Honestly, there really is a problem with the VIP script, and diety item scripts.

The only real workable solution IDEA right now, is huge, long, convuleted, and would probably introduce a million or so bugs the way things get programmed.

It IS on the staff's plate, (which means sometime in the next three years) but yeah... it might be pretty difficult with the programming currently in place for kingdoms.

Sure, good idea, and all, but I have a idea to tack on, A chest that sits in all the Kingdom's castle...

Kingdom Items that was with a person that leaves the Kingdom, gets warped back and into said chest, and only accessible to really high ranking officials in a said Kingdom, like say King, princes, etc... and could be handed out to new people in the Kingdom...saves time and energy at crafting new items, yes?

Drakeero 03-18-2007 07:26 PM

Well, I brought that up with Bjorn... and he said it would error out if the leader wasn't actually on when the transferral was supposed to be put into place.

My idea consisted basically of the item having a script on that would look up the player's name in the kingdom roster upon log in or when picked up off the ground. In trades, both safe, table, and player store, it would check the other player's name to see if IT was in the kingdom roster. If not, just deny the exchange. If the person left the kingdom, then on next log in the item would be then transfer back to the kingdom leader.

Apparently, that method is too long and convuluted, and would introduce too many bugs. At least, that's what Bjorn thinks.

Ravenblade1979 03-18-2007 07:32 PM

Well bjorn does know what he's talking about lol.

Yes. Or maybe aquirable when you wear your pirate tag.
Say the items weigh nothing and you have a kingdom items sack which appears. You can wear the items then when you have your tag on.
Course since those rich pricks payed some hardcore USD for the items i suppose a slight change in stats and graphics should take place.

If it is aquirable from tag kings and governors could have a little rank system going on.
They could give say mages..swordsmen..the additional kingdom equipment they need to fufill their jobs.

Maybe more than 1 graphic for the kingdom items too...so your higher ranked players look different from the normal infantry and new recruits.

This was a system implemented on old maloria but i do not know if it still exists today..since the stats system was introduced there I quit as well as 3/4 of the rest of the server.

Gothika 03-19-2007 12:20 AM

I don't know about the tag thing. I mean. I don't want to go on tag everytime I want to use an item do I?

Actually you'll have to do that in the future.

And how far ahead are we talking because frankly if it wasn't for events ppl would just leave the server altogether.

ReBorn_Spirit 04-01-2007 12:09 PM

Well if you compair to past experiences with staff and feature developments on GK. It looks rather grim, to be blunt, 2 years to 5 months down the road.

However, if we could get ahold of a few kingdom leaders to get decent scripters and graphic people, maybe even a gani here and there. We could easily bring new things to the server with Stefans approval, maybe even Bjorn if he is willing to be on RC for more then a few hours for people to catch him.
