Forum Manager?

What do you think about the idea of someone having the position of like a forum manager? Someone lower in power than Stefan and Unixmad but more power than the mods to manage and occasionally overrule their decisions? Please keep clean.

Minoc 01-25-2007 01:05 AM

You mean something like a forum administrator?

killerogue 01-25-2007 01:08 AM

Yes. :)

dude2020 01-25-2007 01:09 AM

Yes.

I nominate Kaimetsu. Maybe now Googi will release him from the dungeon.

killerogue 01-25-2007 01:22 AM

Mmm. Kai. Apparently to summon him from slumber you have to say something untrue about him?

Humm. Kaimetsu stole all the scripts he posted on the forums from Jesus.

PrinceDark 01-25-2007 01:47 AM

What if Kai is Jesus?

You eat it straight if you want to accomplish anything meaningful.

Kind of like Fun Dip?

killerogue 01-25-2007 03:09 AM

Hmm. Is it tangy? Spicey? I can't eat anything to spicey. :[

Dean 01-25-2007 03:11 AM

Perhaps Ibonic should get more involved in the forum, last I checked his mind set had more in common with the players.

I'm half Mexican, so I automatically like spicy stuff. =D...except Mexican candy. That stuff is CRAP.

Infernix 01-25-2007 03:27 AM

Why have someone manage those who manage us when in the end that manager could cause just as many problems as a Mod?

Devil 01-25-2007 03:28 AM

This thread fails.

Devil 01-25-2007 03:33 AM

That was the only good thing :(

kia345 01-25-2007 04:01 AM

They would only be able to tell the mods what to do?
I'd rather some cold hard rules to tell them what to do.

Twinny 01-25-2007 05:43 AM

Perhaps the community can come up with some guidelines for the mod's to ponder and ,if reasonable, consider / follow. Something like

'Easy on the ban/close-thread button'
'Don't be hasty to close resolved tech issues. Someone can/will have the same problem"

Crono 01-25-2007 07:37 AM

moonie is already forum administrator...

i think her job is to manage them. now how shes doing there is a whole different story dood.

zell12 01-25-2007 07:41 AM

I think this can be solved with a community representive. They only have access to the private forums where the mods/admins can discuss stuff. Also, they must be able to be in close contact with Unixmad/Stefan/Forum Administrators.

This person will be the voice of the community. To voice your concerns/opinions, there should be a specific support centre option, where only this person is allowed to view the tickets. Or I suppose you could just forum PM them.

But who would really listen to this person anyway? They'd just do it to please everyone but the person would just be a doll anyway.

Twinny 01-25-2007 07:48 AM

The person could filter out stupid things like "<so and so> is a <expletive> <expletive> and just provide the mods with a list of reasonable requests / info / whatever.

zell12 01-25-2007 07:48 AM

Well, I am just suggesting things here. I never said that it will work, or won't work. That's up to Unixmad to decide what to do.

That's the type of stuff that gets deleted.

Anyways It's a decent idea. But i think theres already enough forum admins to manage the mods.

hampy 01-25-2007 05:42 PM

I vote no, they can do there own job.

Maybe you didn't know, but we have such a person, the forum administrator Moonie. I am glad we have such a person, so I vote for excellent idea! Thanks Unixmad for hiring her.
If there is a qustion about her decisions you can do a support ticket. The person between Stefan, Unixmad and Moonie is Ibonic. He is manager assistant. If I am not wrong is Unixmad the responsible director for forums and so the boss of Moonie.

lol, I voted not needed since I already hold the job. :D
Yes, Ibonic seems to have more rights then I do, as if he doesn't have enough on his plate already. :frown:

Maybe the thread is suggesting we need one that actually contributes to the community?

Or maybe it's asking for someone who will give them whatever they want? Because that is the only way....
