Too fast for the server?
So I was in the tradehouse having a normal flame battle based around the guy accusing me of speed hacking, and I ask the guy what his basis is for this accusation. And he says "because you jump around a lot". This displayed a lot of technical ineptness, but that's the kind of stuff you get from a guy who claims they work for Blizzard and says that it's easy to get around a Graal ban because "it only edits your start screen".
But then I ask some other people and it seems that it IS true that it appears to other players that I jump around a lot when moving. I tried getting on v2 and this was still a problem. I should emphasize that I experience little to no lag on my side, especially on v4. At first I thought that this problem was a result of my ISP capping my bandwidth, but then, through a remarkable coincidence, I met someone who not only had the same ISP as me, but had had a perfectly identical bandwidth cap placed upon them by the ISP, yet they didn't have this problem. Then I started thinking about other players, and realized that I noticed a bit of jumpiness among players who had speeds in the low to mid 5.x range, but it's not as bad as people describe as it is with me (but my speed is 5.900). So I thought, is it possible that we're moving so fast that the server isn't able to send out our updated locations to players fast enough, making our movement appear jumpy? I find it unlikely that the problem is clientside (whether it by on my side or the side of the player who is seeing my movement) because (in the case of my side) I don't experience lag problems and (in the case of the the other player's side) it seems I appear jumpy to all players, and nobody has a problem seeing the movements of players with low speeds smoothly. |
Interesting, but I don't think speed should alter anything.
You're not 'lagging', you move too fast, in the blink of an eye, you're on another level. |
Yeah, and how do you get from Bomboria to San in less than 8 seconds?

I have noticed you jump around alot too, I just diddnt care enough to complain about it. There are many ways to slow down a very fast person.
|
Yeah, you do jump armound alot its hard to catch you in bomb cause you run on the spot then your gone, I don't think its the servers fault, i move at 5.566 speed and i am sure i never lag neither have i been told i do.

Well How fast is your connection?
if it is at least 300 kb/s then your computer would get to the server faster then somebody on dialup(ranging usually from 5-20). when you have broadband and you move around someone on dial up there is like a 1-5 sec lag(depending on speed) on there computer so he would see you move actually 1-5 seconds later than you do. =D |
Like I said my ISP capped my bandwidth at 50 kb/s several months back. But the problem only applies to people with high speed.
|
Perhaps you're exceeding 88 MPH, and time traveling like crazy, so to everyone else, it seems like you're bouncing around.

Good lord, that's a slow connection speed. |

Yeah, like I said, I know it sucks. What do you want me to do about it?
|
50kb/s upload or download cap?
I'd kill for a 50kb/s upload. o.O |
Download cap.
|
|
heh im lucky if I get to 40 kb/s download speed. And I have dsl too. My computer sucks.
|
This isn't a bandwidth issue, this is a latency\packet frequency issue...
enable UDP, set up port forwarding for 14988 or whatever graal uses for UDP, and see if that helps |
I had 6.288 at one point, nobody complained about how choppy I was o.0
|
I got my speed to 5.3 today, and asked some people about it. They said I was a bit jumpy when I walked. I also noticed the same exact thing going on with shrimps.
|
I guess Graal's getting crummier. I looked at my old screenshots and we clocked iSplash (?) going at about 73 speed, flawlessly.
Not to mention I've hex edited to about 7.3 and nobody saw me jumpy. |

Will test it on debug later, with a few other people. |

You can change so that you're not a scammer anymore, but you can't scam everything you want and then just say "Well I'm not scamming anymore so I'm not a scammer anymore." You have to give the stuff you scammed back.

Was that the wrong post? Or, are you just trying to be witty? Cause honestly that's pretty witty if you didn't mispost that.

Even if you return the items, you're still classed as a thief.

I have a fast internet connection(There is low, medeim, high, and DSL 3high). I thought DSL was just one connection, i have mediem, and I have the best computer of the house(7 computers in the house). For some reason, i am slow....... Sounds weird, but i have problems with seeing myself move 4.000 on the mini map. When I'm around googi, it does seem that she lags alot, like when you lag and the character jumps from on place to another, thats what it looks like around googi. Like it looks like IM lagging, and i KNOW im not lagging, so either it is googi lagging fast, or she/he's computer is weird and messed up. I know she/he isnt hacking because one, i know her/him better than alot of you people, two, she has SS and sent me her speed, and three, she/he showed me all the things to show that she is NOT hacking, plus the server would auto-ban, this has happened to a friend of mine when he was on a trial account, so please, everyone, just shut up about googi and her/his speed, who really cares anyways. Your just angry because either your not that fast, or because she has some of the best speed items around. ok, im done :D

Googi is a male, and no, he doesn't hack. Will test somethings on debug later on today. |
Googi moves fine for me. Cable > DSL
