I would like to thank the Governor for promoting me to Captain. I'll serve to the best of my abilities.

so sorry you two couldn't figure out how to navigate a site with four menu options---especially one not meant for you, which means you went out of your way to view it :rolleyes:

You posted your website in a public forum, expect critique if it's not decent.

Also. If it's confusing, it's confusing. People should be able to go to a website and know what to do, not have to sit there and figure out what obscure symbols mean.

Neither of your "critiques" were constructive. And again, I feel sorry for you if you found navigating to be an adventure in deciphering "obscure symbols." I should add that to the list of requirements to join: "must be able to find the information on how join by figuring out the obscure symbols on this site."

Anyway, thanks for the input, but I don't think I'll be changing anything about it.

A more constructive critique then.

You are creating a page that is to be used for people looking for info about the application. When creating a page for others, ease of use should be the first thing addressed.

These are the two major problems I have with how it's set up.

Mystery Meat Navigation - It means that though you have navigation on your site, there is no indication that it is indeed navigation, nor where it goes to. Those pictures along the bottom could just as easily be mistaken for a footer.

Page Downed - I'm running at 1024x768 as my resolution. When I get to your page, all I see is a big image. To get to what is actually important about that page, I have to scroll down. This is bad.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just think that it could use a little work.

What the heck? It's just Blood Raiders, except with lower requirements. :whatever:

Point 1: Blood Raiders require you to be at least lvl 20 overall and in b-mode. The Phoenix Co. is lvl 20 in ONE OF THE THREE damage classes and b-mode AND you have to prove yourself in ship combat. So, yeah... that pretty much makes it MORE selective and with HIGHER reqs. You ever fought me one on one and gotten my ship down to 20% consitution? Not many people can. I challenge you, in fact I DARE you to try.

Point 2: Blood Raiders haven't been selective since Becan quit (and now, besides Becan, who is inactive, there is only one other member). They are now a position you can rank up to---one that YOU ranked up to in fact before you were demoted (sorry about that).

Point 3: Blood Raiders focused more on covert tactics and terrorism. The Phoenix Co. focuses on naval power---the only novel idea I borrowed was having a den for the crew.

Mystery Meat is on the menu permanently, sorry but it's a personal stylistic issue. But I am concerned about the resolution issue. I'm on 1280 x 854 and it looks just right, but at your resolution it *is* a tad big---I'll work on fixing it since the majority of people do view pages at that resolution nowadays. Thank you for that last post, that really should have been your first post instead of the three word exclamation you first posted.

I was demoted because of inactivity on there. (Doing more RP Team stuff than CP stuff.) And, I was given that position again before I quit CP. Might wanna check the facts as to why a person got demoted rather than just looking at the fact that they did.

Since when was raiding a town via naval forces considered to be the equivalent of stuffing a pipe bomb into your neighbor's mailbox or sending them an envelope full of deadly white powder? It's not like they didn't know it was going to happen.

You mean RP-wise or through GM. In RP terms---how many people does a mailbox-bomb take out? Likely not more than a few. A naval raid on an entire town? Lots more, is my guess. As for game mechanics---the pipe bomb and anthrax, not possible. Naval raid---happened tons of times.

I participated in the events, idiot. I just didn't stay bmode and other stuff because even the other members at the time didn't do much more than I did.

You're missing the point I was making completely. Stop and take time to actually comprehend something rather than just reading it, taking pieces of it, and throwing it into your arguement without any general regard to what I was trying to say.

To show how you contradicted yourself after I called you on something and to wonder why you care so much about a rank and kingdom you left and didn't contribute all that much to.

Then please explain, you weren't very clear. I love how whenever someone fails to put something in a clear and concise manner and as a result someone misinterprets it, it's always "stop and take the time to actually comprehend rather than just reading." Please explain what you did mean.

Okay, I understand now. I said Phoenix Co. focuses more on naval tactics while Blood Raiders focus more on covert operations and terrorism. Notice I did not say they were Al Qaeda, the Unibomber or Timothy McVeigh, I meant, quite literally, TERRORism. I came to this conclusion from the description on the Blood Raiders site:

I took the liberty of bolding incidences where I thought it fit into "covert operations and terrorism" and *starred* the one mention of naval tactics.

All the stuff you have listed for the Phoenix Co. to do is what pirates should be doing anyway. And amphibious assault / land invasion is basically exactly what the Blood Raiders did. Some huge distinction, there, buddy.

That's why this is a pirate ship crew---after CP is assailed for not being IC, for not acting like pirates etc. I get attacked for trying to provide a structured environment in which to do exactly that?---on the basis that it's "what pirates should be doing anyway?" This is hilarious and I fail to see how that adds to your argument.

Since I became Captain, one of our inactive Captains has come back and now also wants to revive his crew and is even also making a website for it---that's the point of crews, to let pirates do what they should be doing, not to come up with something super novel to please the peanut gallery. It's time to go back to basics and work from there, crews are the perfect way to go about this. Thanks for completely missing the point though. :rolleyes:

It's EXACTLY what Blood Raiders do? Seriously, go back and re-read the descriptions and skill listings for both---I can't figure out why you insist they are so similar. The main things Blood Raiders focused on are things that will only be supplementary in the Phoenix Co. for the sake of being able to participate in ground wars, instead of focusing entirely on naval battle and then staying onboard a ship while everyone else goes onto land.

You are not gonna tell *me* what this is or isn't, *I'm* telling you. Last I checked, I was CAPTAIN Cheops Nasar and you weren't even in the kingdom. Again, the attempt at input is appreciated but will be soundly disregarded.

And I won't let this go: if you still think you can pass the trials, be my guest and try for fun, but I'm thinking you wouldn't get past Trial 3.

If you guys wanna make another crew, that's fine. But making a crew so that the rest of the pirates can just slack off and stay out of character while on tag is unpermissible. Leaders need to be making sure that everyone acts as they should when they need to be. Making a crew simply to divert attention away from the rest of the pirates is not something I really like the idea of. Before I left CP, it seemed to be doing okay on it's own. Now I'm not so sure since you seem to say the phoenix co. was made specifically for the fact that you guys were accused of not being entirely in character. Makes me think CP is trying to compensate for it when you guys were already okay doin' what you were doin'. The only thing I've even heard recently about them not being IC is from Craigus on the forums, so why CP's getting all defensive about this commentary is beyond me.

You're good at missing points. The point is not to divert attention away from the rest of the pirates; in fact, I think it will have the opposite effect---start a few nuclei of RP activity and others around you will begin to get into it. But of course you don't believe this is possible. As you've said, the reason you stay in Bomb Trade all the time is because there's no RP anywhere and when you try to make it happen, it fizzles into nothing. I've had the opposite experience and I think crews are a good way to get the ball rolling, and to get people to work towards something other than just levelling and ranking up (although that's a part of it, too). Leaders are also not omniscient observers, delegating some authority to Captains will help ensure that there are more people involved in making sure pirates stay in top form.

Then we can only keep getting better. I don't like the word compensate---I prefer augment and refine.

There's a difference between what *you* think I *seem* to say and what I actually said. It was not created specifically out of those accusations. I was promoted to Captain, and one of the requirements is that you band together a crew. It's really, at its core, as simple as that. You should know this, though.
