Good Job>Lots of money>Graal

Hello!

I know this is almost bordering on unethical and silly, but it seems I have aquired an unusually well paying job (as a supervisor), as well as doing some dancing! As a result, I'm making enough money to plausibly purchase an upgrade and afford school/girlfriend. Therefore, I guess I'm going to come back as a player and nothing else (I don't want to work as a staff member anywhere in the near future). Luckily, this job also gives me a great deal of time in the day where I will be doing nothing (7AM-3PM, so I have lots of afternoon and evening to be recreational).

Bling bling.

Full-time job? Aren't you still in the education route? Or is it summer / time-out time?

It's full time but only seasonal (for the summer). It's a $10/hour thing, for 37.5 hours a week. I was expecting more like minimum wage ($6.80 an hour) for about the same amount of time, so this is quite a boost on what I was expecting. I figure I have a little money to play with now, so I decided to resubscribe (I find Zone to be quite entertaining).

Crono 06-06-2005 08:23 PM

nice, you can upgrade mine when the time comes :p

nah but hi

SoSolid66 06-06-2005 08:30 PM

$6.80 an hour in minimum wage in America? Man that sucks, how could anyone live off that

Worse, in Canada. The dollar is worth even less.

Talent. Lots and lots of talent.
Lol, I almost feel sorry for Canadians with minimum wage if theirs is the same as ours.

Ah cool, so do you supervise dancing? or what? >_<

And I believe that's more than us, even with the bias exchange rates, as 16 - 18s only get £3.25? I think it's that, by law, although most seem to pay the £3.65 at minimum, which works out at $6.65.

Shiftk03- 06-06-2005 09:37 PM

A couple points:
The use of the phrase 'bling bling' died off a couple years ago, only confused white kids and that stupid 'BLING IT ON' commercial use it now.

The minimum wage is lower then $6.80 in America now.

When will these hello/goodbye threads stop being posted by you? Make up your damn mind.

With that being said, play ball!

On the plus side, you probably won't need to wait long for a second chance.

Zxion 06-06-2005 10:27 PM

I thought that minimum wage in the U.S. was $5.15 an hour....?

It was raised because *****y Americans like capitalism, but want it to work directly for them, thus removing the brutal side of captitalism.

Just like a buffet, Americans pick which part they want.

Anyways, I want a job. Give me your job.

(If that sounded unpatriotic, here's a disclaimer. America is great. Americans usually aren't. People in america rock, but when you gather thousands of them, the average IQ usually drops around a 92.)

Well, I teach dancing, and I'm a supervisor for a stream restoration project where I live. The supervising is about $10 an hour and the dancing is about $25 an hour (though I only do that for two hours a week).

I think in Florida the minimum is like, $5.50 or something.

I think it's different, depending on which state you live in. The federal minimum wage is $5.15.
Note that I'm working in Canada, though.

Amagius 06-06-2005 10:39 PM

So...Can you wire me some money? Maybe 3 months of Gold service? I can run down to a Western Union faster than you can say, "Ihatedancing.".

Oh, so we're talking Candian dollars? In which case we get paid more, at minimum  .

I know, but I don't really feel like entertaining/glorifying self-important people with nice posts. I've decided that the repeat purpotrators of negative postings toward users such as myself are really only using pretty language to cover up what is essentially childish drivel (kind of like "omg taek ur ad croc elsewere!!"). Rather than make them feel intelligent by responding to them as though they were, I've opted to respond in equivalent mentality rather than equivalent punctuation/grammar.

Plus, I now don't feel as morally obligated to not return unpleasantries, since I'm no longer a staff member.

It doesn't matter. He's joined the ranks of the people who quit and then came back next week. It's impossible to live down. It's like Kamuii with the 59K or Screen Name getting beat up by his sister.

I also joined the ranks of the working class, which is what allowed me to pull this off.

Self-important?
Fancy writing to cover up childish drivel?
You got all that out of my points?

I think your argument is about as made up as your girlfriend and/or your ability to dance.

Yeah, but you made a big "I don't get no respect" thread, then you came back next week. Of everyone who's quit and come back next week, I think you had the most illustrious quitting.

Ah, that's what I was thinking of. Thank you for clearing that up. By the way, when I started my job I only got $5.15 so that's where I got it from. After 1 1/2 years of working I'm up to $5.63 now...woo.. lol ;)

Shiftk03- 06-08-2005 02:25 AM

He just doesn't want to dignify my posts with a nice answer because he thinks he is better then me. My attitude has nothing to do with it. He is preaching one thing then acting out on it himself. Someone needs a timeout and it sure as hell ain't me.
