I Live!

Like, OMFG (or something...)

Yeah so I decided to login tonight. I'm sitting in a coffee house with a bunch of roommates and I'm very bored. Got to chatting with some people and this forum came up. How's Graal going these days?

<edit (seconds later)>
Ok, so I guess you all deserve an exlpanation as to why I suddenly vanished last August. I got as reather heafty promotion back around then. I've spent much of my time at work and after I get home every night I'm in no mood to be on the computer. I feel really bad about leaving people like that. I had just started getting some gears grinding and then *poof* I vanish. bad galen! BAD BAD no cookie for you

<edit (1 min later)>
I really shuould hold off hitting that 'submit' button. ugh. um ok now I forgot what I was going to say. bah. never mind.

Shiftk03- 05-11-2005 07:58 AM

So. You going to be posting more or just keep the same lazy activity as you've had for the last couple of years? Also, I remember when we were on Classic and you were in your truck using your computer.

HoudiniMan: good to see your still around as well. And yes, it does seem I'm still an admin. Guess someone up stairs still likes me.

Spark: Ah, I see you're moving up in the world.

I guess, although it's more that nobody else is moving up and I'm doing many jobs.

Oh well... Hello, welcome back. I don't know you, but you seem kind enough at the first impression.

As far as I'm concerned, you're dead to me. That is what happens when people call me by my account name.

Welcome back, Galen.

zell12 05-12-2005 12:21 AM

It wasn't always like that. Within 6mos of Zeldo Online's inception to Graal's creation and for years beyond I was very active. I only really started to drift away after Cyberjoueurs couldn't afford to keep me on their payroll.

Wanting to move up, and being worthy of moving up, are two totally seperate issues.

What ?

The game isn't good enough for him to stick around unless someones paying him ? People pay to play the game, and he won't even stick around unless he is payed. Kind of sad.

Curt1zzle 05-12-2005 10:38 PM

Hey Galen, welcome back man!

Hopefully you'll stick around...I've got nothing but fond memories of when you were here. Put on the graal daddy pants, s'il vous plait? :)

When you have other demands in life like a job and school, Graal has to take a back seat to all that. Unless Graal was your job, in which case it would be up front.

I've been juggling finals and working weekends as well as doing PWA stuff during the week, it's quite a busy lifestyle.

You can quit your Graal job then, with no real loss. That's the advantage to not being paid.

Nah. You did good by quoting me by my nickname.
Just don't ever let it happen again or you'll be hearing from my attorney (he also posts on these boards).

If you can't handle it, then quit.

Hello Galen, good to have news from you.

A few weeks ago Angel were telling me she could come back and then no more news.

We will perhaps have yearly news from Angel and Galen ;)

Wait, wait, waaaaait. Let me just see if I caught this correctly.

It is good to not be paid for a job, so that when you quit you can say you lost nothing by doing so?

That would be your opinion, however, I have learned alot working on Graal, I wouldn't say it would be no loss....some people work for Graal, because they love it...paid or not.

One advantage doesn't make it good\better.

It is still not a real loss. Many people have to quit activities they enjoy in favor of activites they need to do to advance in life.

If Graal was making it more difficult to attend to your school work or your job, you would be able to quit without any impact on your lifestyle, except more free time.
