Seriously though:
I can see why my first thread might have been closed; it was kind of sarcastic. Would one of the super-moderators like to PM me an example of what style of thread would properly express this request?
DISCLAIMER: I'm asking as an impartial player. I'm not adding any rhetoric, only a reasonable question. I am not recreating this thread to defy the moderators or to break any rules: Who are the hirees for 2k1? Additionally, if anyone has a problem with my expressing want of information in regards to 2k1, they are welcomed to provide it themselves or point to the rule or rules that I apparently have overlooked in regards to the legality or illegality of such requests. |

But Lance, who are the people you hired baby? |

When I have to continually go into a thread, and see/delete mostly bash posts, then I will close it because it is not a productive thread, and does break forum rules (observe zell12's post, perfect example). Having a genuine interest in something, and asking for info just to wait to pounce are 2 different things. I will leave this alone, but I doubt there will be any answers given until/if Lance is ready to give it.... Bash Lance=closed thread Discuss appropriately the progress of 2001=productive thread, and will remain open. |

I hope the people he hired will develop graal2001 a bit, but still leave me with my memories of Graal2001. :-)

Not exactly, because EVERYONE want's to know and he doesn't want to repeat himself 100 times |

Naw seriously though, we all want to know. |
I wonder if Rabid got manager!!!?!?
|
My opinion on this is that while I know everyone wants to hear things, constantly asking when the information coming out is being kept under a tight seal will just make it less likely for information to be told. I understand that questions the productivity/activeness/state of the server, but I doubt constantly asking will get any answers.

In order for there to be hirees, there needs to be good applicants.
|
Negative reinforcement is needed to make Lance work.
And obviously 2k1 won't be like when Stefan and Cyberjouers backed it up. |

I received three applications. They did not make the cut. Sorry! There are your hiring results.
I should note a few things: 1) Priority one for me is school. I'd been neglecting my schoolwork before, and it came back to haunt me. I received some low grades last semester, and I've been working hard to ensure that such is not the case this semester. I've still been working on making time for Graal and other leisure activities, but things don't always work out the way we want. If you'd rather I focused on Graal and let my grades plummet - well, that's too bad. It is my belief that I have enough spare time to keep Graal2001 from further declining (refer to the post about slow forward progress being better than speedy detrimental changes), and as such I have no plans of giving into VT's push to change the management. 2) I can't hire people if they don't apply. There were so few applications that there wasn't much of a choice. I looked at them a few times, hoping, wishing that they would be sufficient to pass the cut, but hopes and wishes don't unfortunately have much power over reality. If you think your application may have gotten missed, or if you are a fairly skilled developer, I urge you to contact myself or CheeToS about a Graal2001 development position. 3) Unsurprisingly, the amount I need to justify to you, VT, is quite minimal. In fact, it's absolutely zero. As such, I will make use of that prerogative. I will also make use of my prerogative to close this thread, arguing that this thread in and of itself violates your agreement not to bash me, that it was created for that purpose. |
