Pirate Ships
The way it is right now for naviagting is rather....poopie!
If Graal supported a full rotating image script the boats can move all angles to change it direction Tis is how i'd like to see sailing the high seas A Pirate walks up to the boats wheel and press A a npc then takes it to make the pirate look like this http://ghostpirate.guildhappy.com/im...e-steering.gif then if a player wants to turn left he must press -> key to move it rotate it left and <- right. and only one person can navigate at a time + this make a more realistic steering and more fun + more interactive like the rest of graal. Also for moving a wind current could slow or speed up movement =) My main wish is this: Make the big pirate ship beable to move and still beable to go in the cabins go under the deck and in the cargohold. And OPENGL support And didnt u notice how the little pirate ships have no mass or paddle? how can they move? |
Re: Pirate Ships
There shalt be no image rotation (besides, the ship isn't even an image). But you should be able to use the wheel. Triggeraction should do it.
|
Whats its not a image damnit i'll never beable to see it untill opengl support =/
ok rotating somethings! |
Rotating won't be implemented until 99% of Graalians can see it.
|
yeah opengl would make 99% of graalians see it =)
|
and then I'll be the 1% that can't see it :(

It would work best if rotation were there but that's impractical.

not really im sure theres way to keep it a layer
|
The mini ships are images... with setshape2 you can make an image have board-like properties.
Rotate image could be done with an NPC, but it wouldn't be practical, and really isn't all that important. The players only have 4 directions, so NPCs should only have 4 directions too. |
Yes the ships are images. I haven't got more
time to draw more directions, I thought its more important to make it working, and now I am working on fixing the warping. The rotateimage thing would be very simple to add but I haven't seen any good thing where it could be used, the ships would look awful when rotated |
The only good thing I could do with rotateimage is may be
shadows of players |
yes, it would look like a top down 2d multiplayer game right?
|
I like the idea of the wheel being like an NPC, and you control the ship with the arrow keys.. Have it to where the arrows keys would function as command..for example..insted of saying 'left' or 'turn left' whichever it is, just hit the left arrow key. And to go just hit 's' and to stop hit 'a' kinda like the Railcart NPC..without having to constanly hit 's'.

make the big ship move!

me will MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
|
thx i can see them now =)
|
n e thing for a former boss
|
to do a moving pirate ship
just make the cabin doors npcs which use setlevel2 or something similar to warp you to the level of the cabins. and then move the npcs when you move the boat
|
instead of 4 miniships
make an npc which you carry around and you use as you would like the skis or drasine (sp?)and it makes a little boat you use as a personal one, that is a tad bit faster, also havign four boats makes it hard to have a non laggy boat cause of there being like 7 people using it.

BURN THEM ALL!!

spam *sighs*...also..I found two boats stuck together! Shame though, I can't get them unstuck, its the strangest thing I've seen.
|
i seen that =) it was tuff to get apart too but they got it
|
Oopsie, I had assumed that they used setshape2 to make a level within the level.
|
They finally got them apart? Awsome! I wonder how though.. I worked for like 30 minutes trying to get them unstuck, and couldn't figure out how to.
