haunter 12-29-2004 06:46 PM

I personally use MSPAINT because, it is simple, its got all the tools I need, no other installing needed. Graphics gale has doads I dont need, so why use it?

All done in MSPAINT, animated with Animagic.

*NOTE: NOT MY LINEART - I JUST COLORED IT AND ANIMATED

Zero Hour 12-29-2004 07:34 PM

Nice, Goboom. Now, make me a fun signature.

Goboom 12-29-2004 07:37 PM

Make me some fun lineart, and I will color it! :)

alarid0 12-29-2004 11:10 PM

personally... i dont think i could work without my layers ^_^;

ah yes multiple layers...and folders to organize them in...along with easy color mixing with opacities and the instant choosing from the large pallete...
anyone who wants to say ms paint is more practical than photoshop (or one of any other particular gfx programs) needs to stop and think about what they're saying

Splke 12-30-2004 12:49 AM

Funny, how Cloud pulled a Zurkiba (Graalian Art contest style).

truth. those who dont move on are either not willing to learn a new program, or enjoy punishing themselves.

TESTRETIS 12-30-2004 03:28 AM

Also, MSPaint doesn't support transparency.

?

News to me.

Since when do they start removing useful features from programs as they advance?

Blitz_Hunter 12-30-2004 05:07 AM

MSPaint does transparency.

protagonist 12-30-2004 05:16 AM

Hah! Take that haters!

KÄMPFEN SIE DIE REVOLUTION!
The only reason I've been hooked on PSP8, is because they outline a little box where the pixel will be placed. It helps a lot. Otherwise, Paint is great.

Saving it .gif
Not as wide as a selection of colors.
Just more difficult to use in general.

We are not talking about saving an image, we are talking about creating them.
There is a way around that too.
If you save the image as a GIF before you start, then do your stuff and save it does nothing to your image's colors.

Wow thanks :D, I always did 1 mark, saved it as gif, did undo and then save it again.

Dude, haha. The simplicity of Pixel Art is what MS Paint is all about. Also, Pixel Art is based on one of the most ancient forms of art known.

Mosaics.

haro41 12-31-2004 09:52 AM

the program just doesnt have many tools that can save you lots of time. take that picture scott posted. sure you could pixel that one by one, but wouldnt you rather do it the smart way and get it done 200 times faster?

the program doesnt even have a magic wand tool.

Specific. Type. Of. Art. Mosaics=Pixel.

I've never used the magic wand tool... in pixel art or brush art.

haro41 12-31-2004 10:13 AM

well what it does is selects any instances of the same color. either across the whole image or just in the spot that you clicked. also the replacer brush is very handy. this tool replaces any instances of the background color with the foreground color. so you can swap out on shade for another in one click.
or you could do it one pixel at a time. personally id rather do something in 5 minutes than 55 minutes.

Scott 12-31-2004 10:18 AM

In my life; Quality over quantity.

I didn't realize so many people (including yourself) use MS Paint for most of their graphics...

on a likely unrelated note, many pixel art images have the "palette" down the side of the image. what's the purpose of that? just to show how many colors you used?
