Stefan, Tseng, anyone! Revive 2k1!
 

We all know the most beloved and most favorite server out there is 2k1. It's defined economy along with it's kickass kingdoms and roleplaying have impaled our hearts. We can no longer live without it :(

The server has recieved little to no work in forever.. and it's progress is going nowhere.

So please... on my plight and the plight of all of 2k1's supporters. Please do something about this most king of problems.

It would bring me back, and i'll upgrade on a daily basis just to have the server. :cool:

I spoke to Lance recently..it's tough finding someone who can produce good quality levels to complete the last kingdom. I believe him and Excalibur/Zell12 had some arrangement, not sure exactly what's going on now. One thing for sure though, in my opinion atleast, is 2k1 is the greatest server <3

But he hasn't been looking =x... -That's- the problem :(

It's really quite ridiculas. The only people who are sought out to work on 2k1 are people who used to work on 2k1; anyone else is ignored. There needs to be an influx of new people or it's just going to stagnate. Two or three people aren't going to make the server run.

I mean I love Tseng to death but it's just damn stupid to use the excuse 'I dont have the staff to do it' when he hasn't done a damn thing to find that staff :(

In my opinion, he has had his chance and now 2k1 is just taking up space on Cyberjouers boxes. He should step down.

He has been more focused on GK and Era.....ya i saw u there tseng...i saweded u....!!!!!!

Graal2001 is the best server, indeed, but unless Stefan give it a new management we won't be able to play it anymore.

2k1 should be revived, just so I can experience some of it's former greatness. (go me, 119 hours!).

Hopefully something's done, and the project is handed over to the people who want it up.. otherwise, yall *****in without a reason.

I'd like to see it back. I quit playing graal when it went P2P originally. Not because I had a hate of actully paying for things, but I didn't have a credit card to use, really.

I guess I joined a bit after Graal Bomy Moon was ended, so to speak? Darn. I never got to play it. Is it still up, I wonder? I depend on the server list too much, harr.

I bet there are many talented players that would like to help with Bomy Moon's additional progress, if everyone else is busy with other things [Graal Kingdoms, Graal 3D, the list goes on.].

So yeah, I would enjoy seeing it, but 'tis only my opinion on this topic.

There you have it Stefan, Unixmad, Tseng, and any other higher ups...
We want 2k1 finished. And the above loyal players are just a small FRACTION of the total.

Please fix the current problem or show the players your progress =x

Listen, we've been over this before. I refuse to allow the quality of Graal2001 to decrease, and this is what will happen if I hire any average joe who just happens to be interested in helping. The kingdoms were nearly finished, and once Excalibur and I work out what needs to happen, progress can be made towards as early as a Christmas re-release.

I have spoken with Spark about the matter, and he perfectly understands my position. I refuse to sacrifice the quality that Graal2001 always stood for. To do otherwise would be to make a fatal flaw, and watch Graal2001 (both server and community) decline to something horrible. I would rather see Graal2001 in development than see it released (yet again) in a piss-poor state.

Now, kindly cease this behavior.

I look for Staff Requests... I find none.
I look on the 2k1 Servers and I see noone on there.

I see absolutely no progress -_-. Finish 2k1 please.

I can't help it if level design takes place mostly offline. Other than that, there's not much I can do.

I would surely hope you havn't tried very hard to get staffers... as it isn't showing or working.

You have people telling you they will help out with 2k1 and you simply ignore them.


Listen you have a LARGE RESOURCE AVAILABLE BUT YOU REFUSE TO USE IT. It's called the forums.

They haven't quit, I still work for 'em and he has Excal doing the kingdom levels.

Not to mention a vast majority of the staff has quit. We have a Ganis dude, kingdoms guy, and now a newly hired LAT.

With the appearances ... we have a LAT who is ...supposively... working and that's about it.

At the same time we have plenty of open LATs and other developments just sitting on thier asses because Tseng isn't looking for them.

The quality had better be damned good, if it takes this long.

I'd like to be unbanned, then you can revive it.

ill help if you guys need it too, btw i hated how that they stopped working on it. The last update was over a year ago.

get a specific team to help you, god there's more lats out there other than excalibur.. (<3 exc)

If excaliber is the only immediately available LAT to G2k1 standards (which i also do not want to slip even a little) I can think of what I'd personally do as manager:

Make Excaliber the LAT admin and have him hire the necessary ammount of LATs that you require for the job. Have them attempt levels and if they aren't up to standards, have Excaliber tell them what they need to do differently.

Then you will have the experienced LAT admin who did most of the original G2k1 levels training a team of his own which he can control the quality of.

The LATs he hires will develop their skills and the work will be able to get done fast.

Well, since there seems to be a "theres no staff! Ah!" general assumption, I'll post here in the public's eye that I, Curt1s (Formerly LordCG o.O) will return to Graal2001 as a Developer if Tseng so wishes.

I was hired by Jeff, he quit, Tseng took over, said I was innactive, removed me, we got into a fight, we made up possibly on Era (I don't know?), and now we seem to be neutral+.

Hopefully we can put that aside.

Tseng, if you need me back for levels/gfx/scripts, I'm here for you.

If you don't want new staff - and you only want old - well here 'ya go, old staff at your service! :)

P.S. - My corgial skunk friend Rabid is willing to help as well. (But you already know that I think)

Houdini's idea = good idea. It can't possibly make things worse, since there is no work being done at all. There haven't been updates since August on 2001 and September on 2001 Dev.

Andrew: Yes, I have contacted folks outside of the current/old staff to try to recruit them to the team.

Zurkiba: "All my staff" either went inactive, or decided that their talents (which were superb) were better suited in a place other than an online game - their decision is perfectly understandable.

How does what you said make up for 3 months of nothing and, effectively, 2 years of on and off nothingness?

Ahh Tseng, we need to speak very soon. Some people here are getting second and third party information and are getting confused on whats going on too. :(
