I love that you thought of a bastard sword, but a bastard sword is a huge, tall, heavy sword. Dam+15 - ish and speed-2 (no shield) would be good. Also, sustenance seems to be bugged. Sword with +100 sustenance eat your food away at 500 per second (stryker found it)... so, -75 would be like, 75 food per second which could be reversed by Bile. Also, how come your focusing so much on the top 3 stats Ed? I figure you'd have inovating pow+ wis+ items. :frown: |

The thing about magic
unless they're quick as <insert quickness anaology here> they can't cast the spell before you smack them so you could just attack them any time they pull out a wand easy and with no ac or wc, it would take the reflexes you need on Classic and the other servers Which means Dehitay would have the advantage Mwahahahahahahaha |

My suggestion, new battle system. Not just "ooh look I hit dir+s and it shows a different attack with different pow" o.O. Rather, you have attack combos (think Zelda, PSO, any fighter game, so many other games I don't remember) that are divied as thus;
-strengths- low -> quick medium -> medium high -> slow -directions - high middle low sides (straffing) obviously a full array of attacks would be sever overkill for Graal (2d sprite game = hard to tell what is going on with complicated attacks), so maybe just kill the high and low attacks (where you are attacking) and keep the quick, medium, and powerfull strengths with head on and side attacks. This would allow battling to be much more fun and less of a hit-n-run type deal (you can still hit-n-run but that would be your choice). EDIT(forgot about the combos): when you hit 3 strikes in succession, the time to attack is lessened on more powerfull attacks and weak attacks are strengthened (either like PSO where you can do combos anywher, or like WW where you have to be hitting something to do a combo (I prefer WW myself)) it would also be cool to have different ganis stringed together for the combos, slice horiz left, horiz right, jab or so Instead of the WC/AC system *cough*makesGKitembased*cough* base them on players level directly. It seems silly that one could get strong weapons/armour and bless/EA/IWD it out the arse and restart their char, get the items back and lvl up to 20 in no time at all. Kiling the system altogether isn't really neccessary either, since you could just limit the effect items have on your WC/AC and just tie it to your char's level (AC/WC + lvl*someconstant.75orso). That way items still have an effect, but not as much. These suggestions would require a hefty renovation of the current system, but it would make a better game IMHO. (current replay value of GK = null, save for the community... y'know cause there are soo many cool/nice people :rolleyes: ) |

i hate this new vbulletin it said TWICE so far (after making a 20 item list) that the link was invalid -.- I remember Alarid made this, gfx for a rednblack sword, and i wanted to see it made into a Crude Tulwar of Quickness - Dam+11 Speed+2 AC-4 Wc+1 (duel weildable ; wc stacks, ac stacks negatively) ^.^ Great for breaking AC, but leaves you vunerable. ^.^ exm. 2 Weilded, One blessed too Ogma+8, one blessed to Dianchect +3 Ogma+8 = +12 ac (based on D&D rules) and -9 WC Dian = +7 AC -4 WC Speed = +4 for both Dam = +22 for both So, it would bring your ac down (+) +19 ac and give you (-) -13 WC Sounds good to me! Just would have to make a script for it, and change the values on one of them, making it a shield type, that added damage. Not sure how the GFX would look, but hey, I'm sure it would be an AWESOME pirate look.. (cross slashs, merciless double jabs.. -drool-) |
The items sound good..... but we all know what will happen the strong eople who allready have -60 wc will get ahold of them and become stronger.... no weak person gets any good item because every one hogs the god ones.

Ideas:
Flipsword (may be changed) (Attack + 5)(WC+1) Notes: heres the neat part about this sword, if you hit a player with it, their AC and WC will temporarily be switched! (long enough to get 1-2 hits in) making this sword pretty damn usefull agains't AC bastards, also gives good reason to not only have AC, but also try to get WC, and blessing this sword makes the effect last about 1 slash longer per 2 bless levels, so bring it to +10 and it's effect lasts for 6-7 hits, maby thats a bit too much, but all the variables can be switched around and stuff, i don't really care. Ring of the Dreadlord (Life Steal) Notes: This ring ONLY gives the specile effect of life steal, wich makes it turn 1/6 of the damage you do into HP for yourself, pretty nifty, but maby it should only steal 1/8 or 1/10 of the damage you do, maby it should depend on your attack power? open for possiblilitys Gong Shield (Defence +3)(AC+1) Notes: when you block with this shield, it'll make a gong sound that shakes you around alot and makes the enemy hit you 10% less for 1 secend, each EA level increses miss % by 2 and duration of the effect by half a secend, any of these variables may be edited around a bit i'm open for comments/suggestions/flames about me or my item ideas EDIT: NOT ONE OF THESE should be event items! thay should ALL be alchemy items! |
Gong shield doesn't make sense since gongs vibrate to make their sounds, and if you get hit on a shield that's going to vibrate like a *****, then it will make you vibrate too, which means your attack would probably go down rather than up because you're standing there looking like something made outa jelly in a cartoon lol o_O

I actually had an idea of making Double swords...The gani could throw the shield on your back like the bow does, naturally it wouldn't do a LOT of damage because you'd attack a lot fast....Does that sound good?

Boomerang (Attack+3)(WC+1) Notes: Ever gotten bored of just having swords, bows, nagintas, ect.? well heres the answer, a boomerang! it goes into the slot every other weapon goes in, pressing S makes you throw the boomerang, and once it goes as far as it can, it tracks back to you, there could be many boomerangs, and their even bless-able! downside of it is, if it misses the target, you gotta wait untill it comes back to you to throw it again, actually even if it hits the target you gotta wait. Claw (Attack+4)(WC+1) Notes: Another new weapon type! the Claw, it basicly looks like a glove with sharp metal blades sticking out of the front, has 3 attacks: Horizontal Slash, Vertical Slash and Stab, bless-able, downside of it is it's close range like a dagger.
