Dont Delete Me Aka Sup

Since my hello threads seem to keep getting abducted, I put up an anti-jerk shield on this thread.'

BACK <3 x3

Nick1988 03-17-2004 01:35 AM

Abduct this thread! ;)

Hey.

Damix2 03-17-2004 01:51 AM

We all know your back you don't need to keep making threads

Darlene159 03-17-2004 02:02 AM

I dont know who is deleting them, but everyone knows you are back so really, there is no need to keep making the threads.....
Anyway, welcome back, I guess

haunter 03-17-2004 02:22 AM

I dont think it's the actual fact that people won't see this thread that's upsetting... But more the principle of it... There was no reason given as to the utter disappearence of the last two threads...

Hi Scooter... :)

Which is not allowed so there should be no reason you shouldn't be banned again

I agree, but there is also no reason for the person who deleted the thread to forum pm the reason

All Scott is saying is "hello". I can understand if he kept remaking a thread with a subject that was against the rules, but he's not. Some people look at the rules in a far too literal sense. :\

But they are rules, so maybe a mod has a grudge against scott, too bad for him, he is not allowed to remake delted threads

That might be true, but I'm not removing it unless I get a valid reason for the other ones being closed =/

I'm not saying remove it, also so everyone knows why a thread gets removed can't you post on one of the private forums?

welcome back scottzor.

WanDaMan 03-18-2004 10:32 AM

Yohi, again..

Loriel 03-18-2004 02:56 PM

The rule is that if a thread is closed, the topic is not meant to be discussed. If that is the case, we may as well remove this forum. So... it is not making all that much sense.

Or, someone up high could post the usual, dimwitted explanation of why the previous hi threads were deleted.

You know, either way.

Darlene159 03-18-2004 10:47 PM

The rules do not need to be redone, there just needs to be more communication between supermods, mods, admins, and players

The rules are just being taken too literally... People are letting a list of rules make their decisions for them, rather than thinking of every situation as a different one and using good judgement. The rules should be used as a basis for enforcement, not as a god.

The problem lies not with the interpretation of the rules but with the understanding of it.

haunter 03-20-2004 03:43 AM

Then it is a problem with the interpretation... If they arent understanding, then they arent interpreting correctly... Or something... 0.o;

Anyway... ;-x

Lance 03-20-2004 11:11 PM

Wouldn't you argree that one must be able to understand what a rule says in order to draw some kind of meaning from it?

Yes. That's quite obvious really... But wouldn't you agree that in order for someone to understand something, they have to do a good job interpreting it? I always thought "understand" and "interpret" were near-synonymous. Perhaps I was wrong. :|

I just managed to severely confuse myself.

But, anyway, I see it kind of like this:

Interpreting the rules - assigning some kind of meaning to them based upon who you are and what you see them to mean.

Understanding the rules - grasping the reason that they exist in the first place.

There's a whole hell of a lot of the former occuring, and it's being done improperly because there isn't much of the latter.
