New RC

A new RC version has been released. Download it with the setup.exe from the website.

Changes:
- it uses better password encryption, like the Graal.exe, so that the new password stealer trojans don't work anymore
- fixed the update bug of the playerlist (so that it is sorted each time there is a new PM so that the PM bubbles appear at the top of the window)
- you can customize the look by editing controlconfig.txt (after starting it one time you will see several new entries); you can type /reloadskin to load the options again from controlconfig.txt; you can change the background image, buttons and colors

im having a problem my buttons are black in the back and they become transparant when i put them in the skin. Help? Anyways great work steafn :)

marcoR 01-18-2004 04:25 PM

If someone got this working please post your controlconfig.txt because mine won't work. I put the images into the directory that RC is stored in and put the image names in the propper loaction in the controlconfig.txt but that didn't work, I also tried the full path, I also tried converting them to PNG instead of BMP and nothing.. NOTHING! Please help me =(

Btw, Stefan, it's REALLY annoying how nothing you make saves the window position. Could you make it save for once? :P

did you say /reloadskin?

URBANLEGEND 01-18-2004 05:43 PM

IM having trouble as well.

I put all the image locations correctly and the images wont show.
Also when i reconnect to rc after putting in the images the colors that i set change and wont go back.. Even with /reloadskin.

I sappose with everything there will be bugs.....

Hevaricubed 01-18-2004 05:45 PM

make it so we can change fonts, and the transparent colours of the buttons PLEASE.

marcoR 01-18-2004 05:55 PM

And while you're at it make me lunch. Also it'd be nice if we could make the window transparent, tho I don't know how well that would work on linux... if this RC is for linux also

That's not necessary when it first starts.

That's really the color of the button itself... you're simply placing an image on it which has transparent regions (RGB 255,0,255).

It's not, this is just the Windows version that has always existed.

ZeLpH_MyStiK 01-18-2004 07:30 PM

OMG! LOVES GRAAL MORE...Now if you can just release the v3 with RC in it =p

Linux has no problems with transparent windows. :)

marcoR 01-18-2004 11:32 PM

You're right, it doesn't - but I assumed that if the RC was for both Windows and Linux then perhaps they would use different stuff to make the transparencies. (Unless it's in C++)

osrs 01-19-2004 01:23 AM

Fix the forums now. ^^

going to work on the backround more and buttons tomorrow :)

*looks at pic*

Whoa brightness galore

Admins 01-19-2004 03:18 PM

The first pixel of the bmp (lower left corner) is used for transparency I think, if you don't want to have a transparent corner then just add a line at the bottom

CasanovaCanavi 01-19-2004 03:27 PM

I'm confused.. setup.exe? Where is that on the site? -.-

Admins 01-19-2004 04:10 PM

On
http://www.graalonline.com/downloads/index.php
you can download the setup.exe for Windows which then installs or updates the game.

Are you talking about the buttons? I'm confused... surely you know why their corners are transparent if that's what you're talking about.

URBANLEGEND 01-19-2004 05:01 PM

Im still having trouble with getting the buttons to work without it changing my set colors ;/

He's talking about the button images. The pixel in the very top left is the pixel that determines the color used for transparency. Meaning if the first pixel is blue, then any other pixel that is also blue is going to be transparent. Although I don't know what hes talking about when he says add a line at the bottom...=\ Also I tried the transparency thing, but it just becomes Green x.x is that suppose to happen?

-Ramirez- 01-19-2004 06:17 PM

Oh, he's right, I thought it worked differently.

It turns green when you use a transparent region because the button underneath the image is green. The only way to change that is to use a resource modifier... like ResHack.

GTXOO 01-19-2004 07:13 PM

nice

can you work on 3.0+

I really want this to be finished ASAP.

Oh ah sorry, it seems the button is not transparent, I probably forgot to set the transparent attribute to true. So just make it a 32x32 block

icedragon11 01-19-2004 11:41 PM

Its ok XD......Youve done alot of great work as it is ;o

ZeLpH_MyStiK 01-19-2004 11:45 PM

Stefan, maybe you can release a new version of Graal v3 with the RC in it now. At least maybe for VIPs, because since I've gotten VIP, I havent seen any of the features that it was promised, like beta-testing and etc. So release it =p

Blitz_Hunter 01-20-2004 02:44 AM

Looks good and everything but, I don't understand how to set it up for something such as a different background?
It has the background= What should you put after that? :o

Yes, please give us access to 3.1 before everyone else so we can torture them. :)

Blitz_Hunter 01-20-2004 03:36 AM

Well I tried the filename and get nothing. Tried the destination folder along with the filename get nothing. Maybe a better explanation or what it is im doing wrong? :)

marcoR 01-20-2004 03:38 AM
