accounts

hi, can anyone tell me if there is a way to give another person your account?
like, without it being illegeal or whatever

ZanderX 12-20-2003 10:39 PM

Accounts are non-transferrable.

If you mean giving them your gold time, etc. No, I doubt it. But if there is an account name that you want, but it's taken, then you can contact Lyndzey and sometimes she can give it to you... It depends on whether or not the account has been inactive for a certian ammount of time.

i mean, like say i wanted to quit graal and give my account to a friend, would that be illegeal?

ZanderX 12-21-2003 12:42 AM

Mmhmm.

Yes.

An account is basically your identification, it's not security to give your account, even if it's for a trustworthy friend.

Which is why you don't post about it, but just give it to a person  . As long as the said person doesn't post on forums nobody will care.

There are many stupid rules in this world. I mean it's like buying some bread from the store, and then on your way back giving it to a homeless person. Can you imagine a store owner running up to you, kicking both of your asses, put you both in jail and then take the bread away.

I am still not sure wether when you purchase an account it is actually yours, or it is a rental of sorts... But the scenario works either way.

Edit: Minor spelling mistakes

hehe if I was the bread store owner I would...then I would have money for my bread, some free bread and I got to kick 2 peoples asses for no reson ^_^

Bad analogy. There's a huge difference between agreeing to a contract upon purchase that says you can't give your account away and then buying bread and giving it away.

Milkdude99 12-21-2003 05:18 AM

ZanderX is correct , read the user agreement you agreed to when you got the account "accounts are not transferable". There is no clause that states you can if you quit or whatever only that you can't do it at any time.
Quote:

Any assignment in violation of this Agreement is void. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be reformed only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable, and such decision shall not affect the enforceability; (i) of such provision under other circumstances, or (ii) of the remaining provisions hereof under all circumstances. The paragraph headings contained in this Agreement are for the purposes of convenience only and are not intended to define or limit the contents of said paragraphs. LINUX Cyberjoueurs and you are independent contractors under this Agreement. Giving bread to a homeless guy does not cause problems.

It is not allowed because this is what happens most of the time:

Person gives account away to friend ----> Person comes back and takes account away from friend ---> friend or Person come complain to me ---> PROBLEM

Yes, but Jagen is simply correcting Moon God with the more proper name.

Most people refer to people as their account names on the forums, and what if moon god didnt know your name considering there is nothing in your signature, or personal title that says kamuii?

But, with the amount of time that Kamuii and MoonGod have been here, hopefully MG would know Kamuii's name.

I'm still irritated when I'm called Judge_S, but I don't expect many if at all any of the younger forum community to know what that's short for.

Right. Moongod didnt know Kamuii's name so Jagen told him. Simple as that. Its not like he was mad at Moongod for not knowing his name or anything.

Wrong I don't and if there is nothing on his post to reflect his name so how would I? I have never delt with him on the Game, if you have never spoke with someone on the Game and can relate a name with an account name then they are not going to use their name.Only what they know and have access to and this case on the Forurms it is the account name. I will in the future try to remember his name. I would suggest that everyone has their nick somewhere where it is visible to the rest of the members, mine is in my email address and everyone can see what it is. If you don't want to be called by your account name it might be a good idea add your nick somewhere.;)

I also think your nick is Spanky just because in the back of my mind I recall that name in relation to your account name, but I could be wrong because I haven't had any dealings with you either.

<shrugs> I suppose I pick up a lot of things in passing then. Admittedly, his name hasn't been said a lot lately, but before everyone called him Kamoo. ^_^

That's a common mistake. Spanky uses the account Aknts. I've been using the name Judge Spunky for a while now, but I feel that name is a bit childish now...

I have seen Kamuii and Kamoo but I didn't put the correlation between them and the account. You guys must play Kingdoms and 2001 before that because it is 2 places I never had the urge to play. I don't think Judge Spunky is childish, heh look at my nick "Moon God" its kinda dorky to say the lest. I will make an effort to try to remember your nicks in the future, never have been good with remembering names though , just faces.;)

I would think that as an ex-manager of Graal 2001 my name would have at least some umph to it.

Considering how much work you did, yes it would have.
