Gone from Archaic... again
 

Ok **** about being nice. If you like Kingdoms you will like Archiac. Its an exact copy. They already asked Stefan if its alright to copy the bodies from Kingdoms and he said it was alright. So after makr tells me he worked so hard in m,aking the bodies and him and bloo worked hard I go in look and its just a 2002 body renamed to archaic_whatever so basically they are copying. Its quite sad. I got mad at everything on the server b/c Mark wanted it to be the same he says that he don't but everything ends up like 2002. I got to go I will post more later

Spanky, you just dont get it do you? I seriously dont know what to say or do to explain to you the reason I removed you. When you left the first time, I kind of felt bad, and when we went back up, you wanted back on, so the nice guy that I am, I let you back on(which I knew I should not have done because you didnt want gmap or "2k2 based" server). Alright, so we go up, and all goes well for about 20 minutes, then Spanky starts *****ing about everything under the sun. I ignore it. Me and Bloo kat and Ningnong and NyT and Baro, are working our ass off to get this up. Then you have the nerve to come on today and complain about the things that are being made? Hell no, that was the last thing that pushed me over the edge. And no I didnt just flip out and fire you, I talked it over with all of the staff and they agreed. Your undermining their work has become an annoyance, and I wont stand for it. I have heard about you doing things like this in the past from people like...oh....say Godspeed for example. That is irrelevant to this issue, but whatever. Good luck in wherever you go.

Talked it over? Ahh okay like I said see how he said working hard. I haven't seen any work from anyone except Ning and Bloo. Nyt is a GP Chief she is cool I doubt she said she didn't want me there, but its fine if she did I was a harda** but I wanted a good server not a clone and well thats all Archaic is. Anyways I like the name Archaic oh wait.. I made that name there is 1 thing yay!! Oh yea and got my friend to make the story line.. thats 2! Yay I could also go and find all of Kingdoms GFX and rename them archaic_blah for ya! Then I would be working hard too!!

You do know Stefan made me and screen_name let GodSpeed work there right? We never wanted him. Me and screen tried to work it out but it didn't work. He quit came back quit came back quit. Thats all he did.

I would have to say that your ranting about it being like GK is highly subjective. I say this because, even though I haven't seen anything from this particular server, I believe you are just exaggerating your opinion because of your personal tastes. No offense to Unixmad, but it reminds me of many of the French who are filled with foolish pride and think they have reached the highest plateau of social style, class, and ettiquitte(sp?). In reality, its just thier opinion that they are more sophisticated and this is exactly what I see with you. You're too snobbish about your own likes and dislikes that you can't even begin to enjoy someone else's creativity. If they look 100% like GK's sprites, so be it. Its thier problem, not mine.

No...it wasnt his idea...I posted about it and he joined...technically, the only thing he contributed, was the name, the storyline isnt being used, and I did buy the PW, and if he wants to cry about the name, it can be changed :rolleyes:

i know nothing about this server, the barrels in the 1 room i have seen look ALOT like kingdom's
but all i know is that i saw a pirate map, a treasure chest, and pirate/adventure music. i LOVE pirates, so i am thinking i will love this server :0

You posted? I believe I posted looking for level makers for something for Stefan and you posted in it and we were friends then so we made a deal. Even you posted in that thread that me and you were starting a server. I thought it would be fun to everything had to go your way which is fine since you bought the server. Everything I saw looked like 2k2 stuff some stuff maybe a recolor but still the same. I can understand why spanky would be pissed after seeing that.

Trust me this server is full of crap. They want to be like 2k2, they even hired Jagen to script them a gui like 2k2. Mark also wanted to buy a "Debug" server just to be like 2k2. This server looks exactly like 2k2, its going to have 2 players, mark and his npc server :).

You obviously doubt my ability in recognizing copies and I must say, you're completely wrong. I have gone on and looked. You want to know what I found? Yes, the images look like GK's but only in style. Other than that, they are completely original works. You can just as easily do up images yourself and show me how they are 100% identical. But I have already saved you that effort by checking it on my own and found only similar coloring styles. What's so wrong about that, hmm? Its one thing for them to directly rip the individual images. Its another when its just a style mimic. I see nothing wrong with that.

I rarely defend other servers simply because its none of my concern, but some situations reach an esccalated point where I feel I should try and step in to bring out the truth. Its thier decision to use a similar style. I don't see Stefan complaining so that obviously means its not going to affect GK negatively otherwise he'd put a lot of effort in try to have it changed. Once again, you are too absorbed in your foolish pride. You're not the supreme judge of graphics nor could you be. Just because its not to your liking doesn't mean its bad. Others may be quite taken to it. I think its unfair to exaggerate such an opinion as yours because it doesn't give those who do not know an equal vision of what is being argued over.

Why not? If its so tell-all then you should prove them fake. I still continue to call your bluff. If its not forum appropriate then why would I want to see it? I highly doubt that its inappropriate, though. Besides, its quite possible that whatever you intend to show may have changed. For all I know you could've taken the files you have on your own harddisk and renamed them and called it your proof.

If you're not going to post them here then I don't want to hear about it. Its not worth a private discussion considering the possibility that its big issue which needs public attention. What is it you're afraid of?

Tileset, while having color similarity is different from picso.png. There are probably only a few tiles that are unchanged and one particular block that was run through a filter (sand), but other than that I don't see it as being 100% GK. Also, have you ever stopped to consider the fact that they may still be working on it? What you have is probably not final.

As for the arms. I didn't actually see those online despite the fact that I have them in my webgifs folder. Again, its probably a dummy image for the time being. Hell, I'm still using the default bodies and heads as dummy images until I get some decent character sprites. :p

I got on and after Mark told me he worked real hard on the bodies I go and look and there just copies not till after I showed people and they bashed him that he told me they were beta. Before he stood by that they made them.

the arms are almost exactly the same
then you said they may be just a "dummy" version, but then comes into play the part where spanky said that MarkB claimed he made the bodys.

and if it was a "dummy" version, why would he re-color the underwater part?

i'll tell you why, becuase that is the arms he planned on using, and by making a slight change he could claim them as his own!
and the tile set, the grass and dirt almost look similar to that of graal kingdoms, the point spanks is trying to make is that they ripped off kingdoms, as you can see. THEY DID, so how are you not wrong?

I can work real hard on something, but that doesn't mean I'm going to upload it right away :p Again, he did the same thing I probably would've done: uploaded something in leu of the real thing while its still being worked on. What's the point of putting up unfinished work?

Heck, I plan to use the GK body tables as templates for my own since its tidy and efficient for adding in custom animations. Oops! I guess I can't do that or I'm ripping off GK :rolleyes:

I have a far better eye for these things than you do, trust me. I've already compared the entire set to picso.png. Only things that are questionable are the sand tiles and some of the dirt tiles. The mountain tiles are slightly iffy, but I made several checks and its a completely different pattern.

Too bad I go "let me see" and he says "Log on" so I log on and thats what I see.. Heck I logged on just now and took this screen.

Again, I'm sticking by the probability that what is in the FTP is only for temporary means as well as testing to see how things work. I know I've done that before by using images I already have to take the place of what I'm working on until I have the real thing ready. I mean, heck, he may actually have something nice and you just don't realise it. Niether of us knows just exactly what he or his staff have that may not be online just yet. I think its silly to just rush out and assume right away that what you see is final unless it is otherwise explicitly stated. As for his word blunder, we all make mistakes. He was probably showing off the fact that he made an NPC to set the body and those attributes :p

Um, him saying he worked real hard on the bodies still doesn't imply that he finished them. He didn't indicate he was finished, just that he had been working real hard on them.
