Auto Programs

There is a problem with people using Auto Mining Programs to mine,Idle,Pray Today I witnessed Someone using a auto mining prog and i have a screenshot Also the Di Family Witnessed this as well Please Look into this situation

DragonX 07-11-2003 05:22 PM

Wow I remember when m1nt played GK and he used a macro to get tons of water and I had to ban him for a bit lol.

After we seen his strange behaviour in the stone mines we repeatedly punched, questioned and took his minerals from him and no reply from him so whatever. Matin got him out of the mines by summoning pet monsters.

Amoun 07-11-2003 05:31 PM

I think i saw alot of people using that 'mining bot' :/ i didn't bother with them tho

Kojilee7 07-11-2003 06:03 PM

Ive seen it alot i never bothered with it untill now

Matin 07-11-2003 06:25 PM

Yeah some of the Di family took the stuff he mined (bout 50 stones and iron) and he didnt do anything
he was using macros 100% he should be punished

Demon 07-11-2003 07:30 PM

Macro programs = Rule

if ur at the computer during it..

TripleE 07-11-2003 10:17 PM

You guys are all so funky about it. Who cares that he is using a macro. Just follow him when he is using it and take all his minerals he mines :]. He should get his account reset. I think that is the punishment. I dont really care. He is paying for the game, yet he cant do what he wants while on the game.It does kinda ruin the fun though.

Macro programs = Ban

Or at least they did when 2001 was the main server.

Oh, so the other people that pay for the game aren't entitled to fairness?

I don't see how they would find out if you were watching it do it. and if anyone talks to you u just turn it off.

No, they are. That's why later in my post I said that he should be punished because it wasnt exactly fair.

Amoun 07-12-2003 04:17 AM

If someone begins to monopolize the programs i would care, because there goes more economy ****ing upness, but basically, you are spending alot of time worrying about ruining someones time playing, when you are really just wasting your own, my motto is If it isn't a threat don't fret :/ they arn't a problem until ppl start making tons of diamonds which they already have and start these hippy masses msg strikes i will only pay 100 plat for diamonds, it was stupid, but there are many willing to pay 500 still so i still don't see it as a problem..yet

busyrobot 07-12-2003 04:45 AM

where does a paperclip while praying at an altar fit into the rules?

take a webcam picture to prove your innocence, then have at it :\ who care's anyhow, praying at an altar doesn't do too much harm except make your god pay attention to you more and sometimes get spells/items. i tend to use a rock when doing those kind've things, sometimes i accidentally knock the paperclip out ;)

Satrek2000 07-12-2003 09:26 PM

Using a stone, clip or whatever to keep your praying-horkey pressed shouldn't be annything illegal - and I never heard it was. Using macros to have a key pressed, like autofire, is different I think. You put another programm between yourself and graal, which does change the rules, and should be punished.

The only bot I ever used was the one every staff on classic had to run arround O-)

Amoun 07-12-2003 09:30 PM

Lol, ya i like that runbot command on staff, sometimes you see staff gaining staff hours and going afk with it lol xD

Um yeah and if they are caught doing it they are fired, and possibly banned.

But a Macro is a program. How could you tell the difference between an AutoIt program and a built in computer macro?

Amoun 07-13-2003 12:08 AM

to end this arguement, just don't do it.

Never said I'd make any difference. Let me put it this way: everything that adds or alters input between your keyboard and the graal client, or rather between keyboard and server, should be illegal.

Oh, and I only used the staffbot while I was on duty answering questions - running around on Zorbi castle used to be fun back then.

TifaKhan 07-13-2003 06:18 AM

Everytime we take applications for GP without fail we find at least one person using an autobot to gain hours.
I was led to believe it was illegal to use them and why should
it be any different on gk than any other server?
If they are there for hours looping around and dont answer then surely it stands to reason they havent just gone to get a drink.
Sure they paid for their account, so did the ones i have had to ban for using trainers.
Or maybe i should pat them on the back now and say its ok.
geez.

Geno 07-20-2003 08:50 AM

if somenoe is using a bot to run in circles to gain hours, why should anyone care?

deman1171 07-20-2003 11:53 PM

Vahn used to have a GK site he may still have it i forgot but he had LOTS OF trainers and stuff were not allowed to have on it..Thats where they most likely got it from =/

a macro is not a trainer, it's not hard as hell to make a program so it auto d's for you, i remember on era i had a friend that made auto a in like a matter of minutes.

Well, since it takes up bandwidth. Not that anyone was thinking of that. They're just trying to find something to gripe about.

I thinking determining if anyone is an older or newer player by looking at the hours is *****ic. I could easily get a new account and play it for one hour on Classic. That doesn't make me a newbie on Classic. ;\

I feel the same about the people who are just runnng around idling...but whne it is someone who is using an auto mine or something that isnt fair because they are getting something mroe than hours..

Shroomed 07-21-2003 10:25 AM

hmm

Pirat...700+ hours is not decision time on Graal...try 10-20 minutes. :| I don't see what the big point of gaining hours is if you don't even play too often. You sit there at the select screen...and do nothing. :asleep:

That's just the thing, most of the time, people aren't at the computer, therefore, they can't deactivate the program.
I remember these programs very common when Graal2001 was the main server - particularily crafting durbies, as the Golden Hammer took two hits to craft it a single percent.
